Las suculentas son muy fáciles de cuidar pues se cultivan en un tipo de suelo sencillo o algunas veces con piedras, y necesitan poca agua. Mi hermana las riega una o 2 veces a la semana. También trata de que los rayos del sol le peguen hasta cierto punto y luego las pone en donde hay más sombra. A veces se le olvida regarlas más de una semana y estás plantas sobreviven aún en esas circunstancias.

Veo que sus hojas son carnosas allí de seguro depositan su reserva de agua para las épocas de más sequía. Y algunas de ellas tiene pelitos parecen gamuza, y con un color diferente en las puntitas de las hojas. Las más comunes son las que parecen unas rosas pero todas de color verde y con hojas gruesas del tipo Echeveria. De esas tiene varias que las pude fotografiar.

También hay unas suculentas que son con más hojas, de color muy suave y parecida al tipo de flor cuando es doble. Mi hermana me dijo que podía sembrar esta clase de los brotes que ella misma produce a lo largo de su raíz. Allí se las puedo ver qué sobresalen sus pequeñas flores debajo y a los lados de la planta, son como rosas en miniatura, jajaja.

Dentro de las suculentas hay una que se le llama "cola de burro". El ejemplar que tiene ella esta pequeñito, a diferencia de las que he visto en macetas grandes, la planta cuelga como racimos, largos y nutridos de hojitas alargadas y gruesas, que son una belleza. Me dice mi hermana que está variedad "cola de burro" si uno desea sembrarla con solo tomar una de sus hojitas y abrir un hueco en la tierra y ponerla allí, ya se pega sin problema, se obtiene otra planta. Y así fue como a ella se le dio esta planta sembró solo una hojita, increíble no?... Por esta información que recibí me animé a sembrar las suculentas pues donde vivo es zona de altas temperaturas y poca agua para regar, así que son ideales.

Otra clase de suculentas y que adornan la entrada de su casa, es está belleza que les muestro a continuación. Parece que cada hoja tuviera espinas en las puntas, con la suavidad de una textura aterciopelada y con un color rojizo que rodea sus bordes. Este ejemplar me cautivó y es una de mis preferidas.

Conociendo esta variedad de suculentas, más las que he podido ver buscando fotos sobre ellas, puedo tener una meta de conseguir y cultivarlas. Hace unos años atrás una de mis mejores amigas me regaló un cactus en miniatura, porque sabía que me gustan las plantas pero no estoy muy pendiente de cuidarlas y regarlas, ese cactus me acompaño por mucho tiempo, lo regaba con el agua que tenía en un gotero, hasta que lo perdí en una de las mudanzas a otra casa. Aún recuerdo lo fuerte que era aún sin tener mucha agua, ahora entiendo el porqué después de investigar sobre este tipo de plantas.

Cada especie de plantas tiene su belleza natural, necesidades y maneras de ser cultivadas. Por eso tenemos dónde escoger para deleitarnos en sembrarlas y disfrutar de su belleza. Algunas plantas no florecen casi nunca, otras si, pero según su tipo, todas tienen una función: que disfrutemos de la vida gracias a ellas. Cada ejemplar de estás suculentas demuestran lo delicado en detalles que es su creador, Dios.

Espero pronto poder tener mi propio jardín de suculentas, el conocerlas me hizo tenerles cariño y querer sembrarlas. Lamentablemente no supe darles el nombre a cada especie como debe ser, pero con la ayuda de ustedes los conocedores de estas plantas y mi continua investigación lograre hacerlo. Hello to all succulent lovers who share their experiences here. It is the first time that I publish an article in this community. When I saw the name of the community I did not know what it referred to, because in everyday life we see varieties of plants and we give them the name that seems to us or the one that people in general know the most. I never imagined that this type of small, low watering and easy to care for plants would be called succulents.

After seeing what kind of plants they are I started to research about them and how many new things I discovered, interesting to say the least, so much so that there is a succulent called Christmas cactus and I always thought it was a type of lily, hahaha. And when I discovered that aloe vera is also a kind of succulent, to every person I see that has this plant I communicate this discovery for me something new hahaha. At home mom has always liked to have green and flowering plants, but succulents very little.

Some time ago she began her taste for growing and caring for them, and now my sister has followed her path. Visiting her house I see around her windows and in the entrance, several small pots planted with this type of plants. I see that she has different colors, although always between shades of green, and of different sizes and kinds, which now I understand how they are classified. The cactus is perhaps the best known of this species but there are also the Echeveria.

I think most of the ones my sister has in cultivation are of this class. She has them in plastic containers and in containers made from the fruit of the tree (Crescentia cujete) known in the area as "tapara". They are very picturesque and adorn with the type of plant that is planted there, holes are made under the shell of the fruit, which is strong and so the plant discards the excess water and keeps only what it needs. These are the kinds of succulents they have.

Succulents are very easy to care for as they are grown in a simple type of soil or sometimes with stones, and need little water. My sister waters them once or twice a week. She also tries to let the sun's rays hit them up to a certain point and then puts them where there is more shade. Sometimes she forgets to water them for more than a week and these plants survive even under those circumstances.

I see that their leaves are fleshy and there they surely deposit their water reserve for the driest periods. And some of them have hairs that look like suede, and with a different color on the tips of the leaves. The most common are the ones that look like roses but all of them are green and have thick leaves of the Echeveria type. He has several of these that I was able to photograph.

There are also some succulents that are more leafy, very soft colored and resembling the type of flower when it is double. My sister told me that I could plant this kind from the buds that she herself produces along her root. There I can see them protruding their small flowers below and on the sides of the plant, they are like miniature roses, hahaha.

Among the succulents there is one that is called "donkey tail". The specimen she has is tiny, unlike those I have seen in large pots, the plant hangs like clusters, long and nourished with elongated and thick leaves, which are a beauty. My sister tells me that this variety "cola de burro" if you want to plant it, just take one of its leaves and open a hole in the ground and put it there, and it sticks without any problem, you get another plant. And that's how she got this plant, she planted only one leaf, incredible, isn't it? Because of this information I received I was encouraged to plant succulents because where I live is an area of high temperatures and little water to irrigate, so they are ideal.

Another kind of succulent that adorns the entrance of your home, is this beauty that I show you below. It looks like each leaf has thorns on the tips, with the softness of a velvety texture and a reddish color that surrounds its edges. This specimen captivated me and is one of my favorites.

Knowing this variety of succulents, plus those that I have been able to see looking for photos about them, I can have a goal to get and grow them. A few years ago one of my best friends gave me a miniature cactus, because she knew that I like plants but I am not very attentive to take care of them and water them, that cactus accompanied me for a long time, I watered it with the water that I had in a dropper, until I lost it in one of the moves to another house. I still remember how strong it was even without much water, now I understand why after researching about this type of plants.

Each species of plants has its natural beauty, needs and ways to be grown. That's why we have where to choose to delight in planting them and enjoy their beauty. Some plants hardly ever bloom, others do, but depending on their type, they all have one function: that we enjoy life thanks to them. Each specimen of these succulents demonstrates how delicate in detail their creator, God, is.

I hope soon to be able to have my own succulent garden, knowing them made me love them and want to plant them. Unfortunately I did not know how to name each species as it should be, but with the help of you the connoisseurs of these plants and my continued research I will be able to do it.
