This flowers is a pain to photograph. The colour is so intensive and shiny in the same time that the camera has problem catching it properly. It's something between fuchsia and purple. Some photos come out quite close, some way too purple. Pretty cool colour and it's the only cactus I have that has this colour.
Sulcorebutia frankiana
It is native to Bolivia and can be found on 2700-3400 meters above sea level. It is a very hardy plant and can handle direct sun and periods of draught too. It has a tap root that stores water and nutrients. In one hand it is a good thing (from a home grower perspective), because it can be almost forgotten and it will be fine. In the other hand, too much watering or rain and it might rot in no time.
Best thing is to adjust the soil (more rocky or sandy) to our care and environment.

I think I mentioned in one of the previous posts that I have tried to cross pollinate some cacti. Nothing planned. Just mixed pollen from all blooming ones in that time between each other. It has been a while since this one was in bloom and I think there is a fruit forming. Yay!
I cant wit to sow it and see what grows from it :)
