With the appearance of pests, many of my plants with the beautiful flowers that I used to have in my garden have disappeared. I could not recover my orchids. After so much photographing their flowering stems, they got tired, and I no longer have orchids.

This orchid-like flower species is a very hardy plant. It goes a long time without blooming in my garden, as the soil is very dry, but when it does, it is a special flower.

Its name is Trimezia martinicensis; it reproduces by rhizomes, and I have been able to propagate it by branches that grow after flowering.

It grows as a shrub and does very well in pots and in the ground. Wherever I put good nutrients, there it grows with its long, sharp leaves. It is like a kind of fan.
