Bless up!
A few weeks ago I helped a student of mine release his first tune in the form of giving him studio time and motivation. A 16 year old Japanese kid from the rural parts of Japan that I taught English to in public school. He was a real rebel, many saw that as a bad thing but I saw him as a dream chaser, an individual that needed to be on the outskirts of Babylon.
When I was his age I wished someone would have given me studio time and inspiration to pursue my dreams, so I thought it was only right to mentor him as much as I could with my know how. I will motivate him to keep going as he is young and also a junior high school dropout. I want to see him go to the top as his song suggests.
When he came to record at my home studio he offered me money for the studio time but I couldn’t take it. Instead I asked him to buy me lunch. Interestingly, the spot I chose was a spot he had always heard about from other underground rappers in the area who were older than him. It was a Brazilian burger joint called BurgerYa. He was delighted to finally go there as it is situated in a town that in the mind of Japanese teenagers is a “dangerous place”.
Here is a pic of the burger he bought me, it had pineapple 🍍 slices and was delicious 🤤.
If you are on Spotify, give the kid a listen, even if you don’t understand, help motivate the yutes to live their dreams. I am not the producer and earn nothing from the streams/downloads but just want to see the youths do their thing!
Stream 8laze’s single, Go 2 the top on Spotify and give him some inspiration! Bless Up!
