Here's my 73rd Splinterlands Guild Brawl Report for PIZZA 2 The Deep Dish. 🍕⚔️🛡️
I'm still surprisingly up to date with my brawl reports even though I have actually been pretty busy since the turn of the year. Perhaps my time allocation for writing a quick post everyday is improving? 🤣.
It's Day 13 of the Chinese New Year, so there's only 2 more days left till the last and final day 15. If anyone out there was lucky enough to actually be on holiday for the full 15 days, congrats to you! 🧧🧧🧧
It's the ✨🏅✨Gold Foil Chaos Legion Fray no.12✨🏅✨ for the 56th week in a row for me.

I have FINALLY gotten back to a win percentage level of > 60%! 🎉 It took me over 4 weeks perhaps to make up for that disaster when I forgot to enter my brawls. Lesson learnt and I hopefully will not allow that to occur ever again. 😎
I'm some way off from being able to afford any new Gladius packs. It might take up to another 2 more brawls before I'm able to make my next purchase.
🤞🏻🍀🤞🏻🍀🤞🏻🍀 Fingers crossed for a Gold Foil (Legendary!!!) I hope 🤣🤑 for my future Gladius packs. (or any packs/rewards chest for that matter 😉)
With all that said, lets FINALLY get down to a review and quick analysis of my battles 🧐⚔️🛡️, or in some cases where my opponent fled 🏃🏻💨 - non battles 😨.
As usual, I make an extra effort to rent ✨Gold Foil Chaos Legion✨ cards that align with my daily focus during Guild Brawl days.
Hopefully Lady Luck continues to shine on me 🍀🍀🍀 and I don't get too many weird ruleset combinations which will completely screw up my limited Gold Foil selection of cards. (🤣 yeah, that's how terrible I am, to have to rely on luck for my wins)
Some thoughts I have about my exploits in the Gold Frays. 💭🤔
I feel like I'm winning because my opponent has even less Gold Foil cards available to him than I do. Personally, I find it slightly flattering to me. The teams I field are definitely not the absolute strongest, but more of what is available to me.
It also doesn't account for HOW I win some of the fights though. I've realised that a fair number of them are from opponents who just gave up and did not even face me in battle. ⚔️⚔️⚔️
My choice of picking up the Gold Foil frays is to simply give the Guild a better chance at accumulating more wins, seeing especially that IN THE PAST, many Gold Frays were left empty. Even if I were to lose everything and win just 1 match, it would definitely help in securing a better finishing position overall. 🥇🥈🥉

I was expecting to lose this battle especially since I lost my Scavo Hireling immediately on the very first attack. My Radiated Brute followed quickly after that. Fortunately, the amazing power of my Gladius card, Chimney Wallstop, saved the day. He managed a few kills and powered up enough via Bloodlust to become unstoppable.
Phew! Close one. 😅🎉

I had feared the worst when I saw the new ruleset come into play here. GOING THE DISTANCE meant only ranged units could be used. This was a subset that I was severely lacking in. Fortunately for me, my opponent was in even more dire straits than I was and was only able to field a single ranged unit. This basically meant a free win for me as he wasn't capable of making a single attack at all.
Once again a lucky win! 🍀🎉

Another consecutive week of straight wins? I've to attribute this all to Lady Luck this time round. All 3 matches could have easily been lost.
I feel it's important that Guilds are able to fill out all the frays - even the significantly "harder" Gold ones. It is very likely that most guilds (at our level) skip the Gold frays completely, or are unable to even field a team if they've got no Gold Foil Summoners. This therefore leads to a better overall score.

This might have been a good personal score for myself, but alas, it wasn't meant to be for the entire guild. I must say finishing 4th was a slight disappointment given how we're so used to finishing on the podium nowadays.
Unfortunately, we had some missed battles which came about as the game went down for maintenance at an awkward timing. Life is like that. That's why it is sometimes better to finish off all your brawls as early as possible so that these last minute happenings won't affect you at all.
I'm sure we'll bounce back again for the next brawl so not to worry!
On a sidenote, we've still got some unfilled frays too so...
