Good morning, or afternoon, or evening, depending on when you're reading this new article for the Social Media Challenge. As every week, I'm punctually here for our first challenge in the Splinterlands universe to bring you a new analysis of one of the cards in my roster, featuring a battle in which we unleash the full potential of said card. This week, I'm returning to analyze a card from the Fire deck. You know it's not my specialty, but I thought it would be a good idea to show you how NOT to use it. Yes, you're going to see me fall miserably due to my own mistakes. But, like everything in life, you learn by losing and from mistakes. In a few months, I hope to repeat the card with its updated analysis, but on that future occasion, I hope it will be with a good victory and making up for this week's mistakes. Como cada semana acudo puntual a nuestra cita con este primer reto del universo Splinterlands para traerte un nuevo análisis de una de las cartas de mi roster con una batalla en la que desarrollamos todo el posible potencial de dicha carta- Esta semana vuelvo al análisis de una carta del mazo de fuego, ya sabes que no es mi especialidad, pero me ha parecido conveniente ver cómo NO se debe utilizar. Si, me vas a ver caer vilmente derrotado por mis propios errores. Pero es que, como todo en esta vida, se aprende perdiendo y de los errores. Dentro de unos meses espero repetir carta con su análisis actualizado pero, en esa futura ocasión, espero que con una buena victoria y compensando los errores de esta semana. Venga, si tengo tu atención, vamos con el análisis de esta semana de mayo.
This week's analysis focuses on a human card. You already know, and if you don't, I'll tell you right now, that the Splinterlands cards have been reorganized, assigning them a race that will be important in the near future. Chaos Evoker, therefore, is a common card from the fire deck and a human race with interesting lore behind it. It's even rare to see cards from the fire deck, specialized in melee attacks, with a magic attack like the one analyzed in this edition of the Social Media Challenge. The tribe known as Evoker are wizards and sorcerers who have specialized in destructive magic. In the case of Chaos Evoker, they forced its evolution toward fire magic, giving greater power and diversification to this fiery deck. Currently, there are no less than 180,000 copies of Chaos Evoker in distribution and just over 12,000 in the gold edition. As you can see, a card that, based on numbers, is quite likely to be in your fire deck roster.
Esta semana el análisis versa sobre una carta humana. Ya sabes, y si no lo sabes te lo cuento ahora mismo, que se han reorganizado las cartas de Splinterlands asignándoles una raza que tendrá importancia en el futuro cercano. Chaos Evoker, por tanto, se trata de una carta común del mazo de fuego y de raza humana con un interesante lore detrás. Y es que es hasta raro ver cartas del mazo de fuego, especializado en el ataque cuerpo a cuerpo, con ataque mágico como la analizada en esta edición del Social Media Challenge. La tribu conocida como Evoker son magos y hechiceros que se han especializado en la magia destructora. En el caso de Chaos Evoker forzaron su evolución hacia la magia de fuego dotando de mayor poder y diversificación a este mazo ardiente. En la actualidad hay nada menos que 180.000 copias de Chaos Evoker en distribución y algo más de 12.000 en la edición dorada. Como ves, una carta que por números es bastante probable que tengas en tu roster del mazo de fuego.
The analysis will be based on a level 5 copy. At this level, it acquires two special abilities and has moderately improved its basic abilities. With a summoning mana cost of seven points, we obtain a card with two magic attack points, one shield point, two vitality points, and three speed points. As you can see, these are not particularly remarkable stats. The evolution of these basic abilities will not be significant, since from level 1 to 10 it will only gain one more point in shield and speed, none in attack, and, yes, up to five in vitality, making it a card with a higher level of health and, consequently, resistance in combat. As for its special abilities, it has Blast at its initial level, obtains Ambush at its level 5, and finally, Dodge if we manage to evolve our Chaos Evoker to the maximum development level.
El análisis se va a realizar en base a una copia a nivel 5. Nivel en el que adquiere dos habilidades especiales y ha mejorado de manera moderada sus habilidades básicas. Con un coste de maná de invocación de siete puntos obtenemos una carta con dos puntos de ataque mágico, uno de escudo, dos de vitalidad y tres de velocidad. Como ves, no son unas estadísticas especialmente reseñables. La evolución de estas habilidades básicas no va a ser notable pues del nivel 1 al 10 tan solo va a obtener un punto más en escudo y velocidad, ninguno en ataque y, eso si, hasta cinco en vitalidad convirtiéndola en una carta con mayor nivel de vida y, por consiguiente, de resistencia en combate. En cuanto a sus habilidades especiales cuenta con Blast en su nivel inicial, obtiene Ambush en su nivel 5 y, finalmente, Dodge si conseguimos evolucionar a nuestra Chaos Evoker al nivel máximo de desarrollo.
Now let's move on to the example battle. My opponent this time will be someone truly powerful, like Monsterstamer, who's going to form with Daria Dragonscale as the summoner. One of those rare epic-rarity summoners. The battle will have a mana limit of 45, and the battle conditions will be What Doesn't Kill You, Deflection Field, and also Odds Ones Out. The odds, based solely on the opponent's summoner's level, are against me.
Vamos ahora con la batalla de ejemplo. Mi rival esta vez será alguien realmente poderoso como es Monsterstamer que va a formar con Daria Dragonscale como invocadora. Uno de esos invocadores poco habituales de rareza épica. La batalla tendrá una limitación de 45 puntos de maná y como condiciones de batalla van a aparecer What Doesn’t Kill You, Deflection Field y, también, Odds Ones Out. Las apuestas, solo viendo el nivel del invocador rival, están en mi contra.
Good. As you've seen, it wasn't the best strategy ever. Even today, watching the battle replayed, I can't figure out why I placed Chaos Evoker as a tank in my strategy and planning. I opted for a lineup based on magic attacks, fielding a Dragon summoner to expand my eligibility options, and yet, I decided to place a card like Chaos Evoker as a tank, which performs well but not exactly in that position. The poor choice of this first position already affects the development of the battle and prevents us from seeing the full potential, which isn't much, of the card analyzed this week. Looking at the strategies and in hindsight, Chaos Evoker placed in the second-to-last or even last position would have had more impact, and we could have seen a bit more resistance and level in this analysis. As I told you at the beginning, in a few months I will return to Chaos Evoker with an updated analysis, hopefully at level 7, and with a battle in which a victory with its prominence will give us more information and playability of a card that does not stand out especially within the fire deck but that, by having a magic attack, has an outstanding playability in that environment.
Bien. Como has visto no ha sido la mejor estrategia de la historia. Aún hoy, viendo la batalla repetida no soy capaz de intuir los motivos por los que coloqué a Chaos Evoker como tanque en mi estrategia y planificación. He apostado por una alineación basada en el ataque mágico colocando un invocador Dragón para poder ampliar las opciones de elegibilidad y, aún así, he decidido colocar como tanque una carta como Chaos EVoker que rinde bien pero no precisamente en esa posición. La mala elección de este primer puesto ya condiciona el desarrollo de la batalla y no permite ver todo el potencial que no es demasiado, de la carta analizada esta semana. Viendo las estrategias y a toro pasado, Chaos Evoker colocada en la penúltima o incluso última posición habría tenido más impacto y podríamos haber visto algo más de resistencia y de nivel en este análisis. Como te decía al principio, dentro de unos meses volveré a Chaos Evoker con un análisis actualizado, espero que a nivel 7, y con una batalla en la que una victoria con su protagonismo nos aporte más información y jugabilidad de una carta que no destaca especialmente dentro del mazo de fuego pero que al tener ataque mágico tiene una destacada jugabilidad en ese entorno.
