Hi there. In this travel post, our group conclude our stay in Meizhou, China. The 9 or 10 days here were nice as it was a slower pace in a smaller China city.
We head back to Guangzhou as our final main city for several days before our flight.
Meizhou West Station
Our family friend in Meizhou dropped us off at Meizhou West Station. It is not a big station compared to the other bigger China cities but it is still spacious.
For some reason I took pictures of the washroom there. They look nice.
The station was not really busy on a weekday morning before lunch. A lot of seating available in the waiting area. (Picture not shown, did not take a lot of pictures)
Train Ride
This train ride took around 3 hours and 50 minutes. We got second class seats which is comparable to economy class. Second class is the lowest and cheapest tier of seats on this China train. The cost for one adult on this ride in September 2024 was around 60 CAD.
If you were to take this route from Meizhou to Guangzhou or Shenzhen and vice-versa, the train ride time would be shorter. Shortly after this time, there was an announcement of new routes between Shenzhen to Meizhou and Guangzhou to Meizhou. I think the new train ride times is just under 2 hours.

The train stopped for around 10-12 minutes at Chaoshan Railway Station for a long break. It was also to reverse the direction of the train. We also had to turn around the seats (not shown). If you take the new routes I don't think this is the case.
Arriving At Guangzhou South Railway Station
We arrive back at Guangzhou South Railway Station. It does take some time go get through security while exiting and entering the Guangzhou metro system.
Night Photos
Our group check-in at our hotel and then rest for a bit. We liked Ji Hotel back in Shanghai. For our Guangzhou hotel, I chose Ji Hotel again for the group. It was a good safe pick for our last main city. Hotel review in next post.
Later in the evening we have our own dinner and explore the area near our hotel. This area was near the Jiangtai Road subway station.
