Dear Travel Friends,
Today I'm taking you to Wakkanai, Japan.

After a long journey back from Osaka, which involved catching two trains to Kansai Airport and then a 2-hour flight to Hokkaido, I forgot to check the online booking for the bus to Wakkanai. This resulted in me staying one night in Sapporo. Fortunately, with the help of technology, I booked my hotel in just 2 minutes and quickly set off in a different direction. At least I caught up on some sleep and didn’t have to drive through the night.

The whole trip from Sapporo to Wakkanai, the capital city of Japan’s northernmost prefecture, took 5 hours, passing through lush forests and beautiful landscapes. As soon as I arrived, I flew the drone for the first time in 45 days and recapped the past month. It’s good to be back on the boat and breathe the sea breeze.

We enjoyed Wakkanai we went to the Onsen and to a local restaurant and had a wonderful time, there's was lots more to see but with a rapid departure to Alaska, we had no time to waste on preparing the boat and making adjustments.

Update on the Passage: Update on the passage, we are doing well, motoring way too much. In 3-4 days we will sail through the Kuril islands.
