Hello dear travel lovers. Today I want to talk about our visit to Ferrari Land park. I had mentioned PortAventura park in one of my previous posts, but somehow I never went into detail about Ferrari Land. Although we have been there several times, I’m finally filling this gap. This park carrying the spirit of the Ferrari brand, opened in 2017 and has Europe’s fastest and tallest roller coaster: Red Force. It appeals to all ages with its Italian-themed streets, simulation experiences and kid-friendly areas. You can reach the park from Barcelona by train in about an hour. The Salou PortAventura station is only a 10 minute walk from the park. Today I will talk about the entertainment areas in Ferrari Land, whether it’s worth visiting and what to keep in mind when planning a visit.
First of all, let me say this: PortAventura and Ferrari Land have different opening hours. For example, on Wednesdays, Ferrari Land opens only at 4:00 pm. So anyone planning to visit should definitely check the opening hours in advance. On Wednesdays, Ferrari Land is open from 4:00 pm to 10:00 pm.
Also, I want to share which hotel we stayed at, the cost of visiting Ferrari Land and PortAventura in 2025 and what kind of energy these parks give you. Ferrari Land is located about an hour from Barcelona. The entrance ticket costs around 20 euros.
But the real highlight here is not the photos or the ice cream. It’s the massive roller coaster called Red Force. You shoot up 112 meters in 5 seconds. Watching it alone is scary, but there was no point in panicking anymore. We headed straight there.
It was incredible. Speed, acceleration… a completely different experience. Sitting in the very front changes the feeling entirely. Our hair was a mess, tears ran down our cheeks and we were flying. It was amazing. We wanted to ride it again immediately. Really a perfect roller coaster.
Ferrari Land has a complete Formula 1 atmosphere. Next to Red Force, there is a pit-stop simulation. You get dressed up like a real mechanic (they provide a jacket) and can change a Ferrari’s tire. But don’t expect a very impressive system; it’s just done with a simple drill. Still, it’s a nice activity for those wanting a change.
Then we moved on to a tower-style ride resembling big pistons: This ride is called Thrill Towers and offers two different drop experiences on two different towers. The lines weren’t very long and I recommend trying both.
There are a total of 16 rides in the park. Many are suitable for families and children. One of them is Maranella Grand Race. You race miniature Ferraris on a track. It might look ordinary from the outside but it’s a fun activity. If you don’t have to wait in line, definitely try it.
There are Ferrari sports cars placed around different corners of the park; you can approach and examine them closely. There is also a small Ferrari museum, especially interesting for Formula 1 fans. Food and drink places, stages and show areas and souvenir shops are also available.
The most interesting part is the Ferrari Experience area, which has two simulators: Racing Legends and Flying Dreams. Both are 3D cinemas, but the quality difference is significant. First, various introductory videos are shown, but honestly, those parts bored us. The real fun starts the moment you sit down. If you’re flying, you’re in Flying Dreams. Effects, wind, scent, water droplets… It really gives a flying sensation. I definitely recommend trying it. But if you’re racing, you’re in Racing Legends and… disappointment. No wind, no scent, no water. Also, the image was blurry. Maybe there was a problem with our session, but if you’ve been, I’m curious about your comments. Please share, maybe you had a better experience.
Ferrari Land is small but quite impressive. It’s slightly cheaper than PortAventura. The rides are very adrenaline-filled.
Then we went to our hotel. We stayed at the 5-star Mansion de Lucy Hotel. It doesn’t have its own private area but shares a large common area with several hotels. Lucy is the most luxurious. Rooms are spacious, with a minibar, refrigerator and complimentary water. And best of all: if you stay at this hotel, you get unlimited entry to both parks. Also, all express passes are free. It’s a great choice for those who don’t want to wait in lines.
Our room was number 2022. We had both sea and park views. The rooms have RITUALS brand bathroom products. Bathrobes, slippers and towels are also provided. Breakfast is included in the price. You can choose from a menu or have a buffet. The waiters are very attentive and warm. They make you feel very special.
The hotel provides free electric vehicle transfers to the parks. There are also free electric car charging points in the parking lot. A welcome drink is offered at check-in: several fruit juice options and white or rosé cava. We tried both cava and fruit juice.
Then it was time to have fun at PortAventura. There is a special entrance gate for hotel guests, so you enter the park directly. I had written a post about this park before; there were no major changes but… This time, we got the front row on our favorite roller coaster, Shambhala.
We brought raincoats for water-themed rides. It’s perfect for cool days. Of course, if you want to cool off in the summer, there’s no need for raincoats.
In the kids area called Sizom Street, there is a cookie catching themed 3D laser game. It’s very colorful and fun. Express passes cost 8 euros, but our hotel gave unlimited access to this attraction. So we rode repeatedly and broke new records every time.
In my opinion, the most modern and exciting ride is Uncharted. Being the park’s newest attraction, it’s very popular. A single express pass costs 25 euros,quite expensive. But if your budget allows, I highly recommend trying it.
Also, keep in mind: even with express passes, there can be some waiting. Rides might break down or too many people may want to use express passes. But overall, it’s possible to have a fantastic day.
