One boring afternoon at work, my officemates and I decided to go out as it's been almost two hours since we are stuck at the office and working because of the pandemic. Most of them love to go to the beach as if it was summer time except me. I grew up on an island that is why. I prefer to go hiking or trekking. Does luck was not on me, the majority wins.
We will be going to a beach. With a heavy heart (kidding) I don't have a choice but to agree.
They chose Anawangin beach located at Zambales (Philippines). It was approximately not less than 5hrs away from our place.

We chose to travel at dawn to avoid road congestion. When we arrived, I was surprised as we needed to ride in a small motorized boat. The place we are going to was an island. With no electricity and cellular signal. It was like let's go back to basics
Our picture as we are preparing to sail. That's the boat we will be riding.
Before heading into the camping site we stop first into an Island hopping at Capones.
The Tour guide gave us a few minutes to enjoy before leaving.
This time we are going to the actual campsite as I stated a while ago.
There are cottages available but we decided to settle in tents. Just like the old days, we cooked using the traditional way. It was fun though it takes time to light those charcoal.
The campsite was just a few steps away from the seashore where you can enjoy swimming or other water activities such as banana boat.
Unlike in the other island which is Capones the water current in here was not too strong. So you can enjoy swimming without fear. For those who are not swimmers.
After we were done swimming as it was still early, we decided to go trekking. This is what I am excited about. It was just a mountain at the both ends of the resorts. The other one was " The Wishing Mountain" while the other was namelessš¤£.
As agreed, we go first at Wishing mountain as it looks more friendly for beginners.
We just paid $1 for the entrance fee.
It was not that steep as there were mad made stairs. Though I think the one who made those stairs were tall people and forgot to anticipate that there were short legged people like me. So it was still tiring to climb up those stairs. I was catching my breath upon reaching the summit.
YET, I am confident to say that it was worth it upon seeing the view. You can see the full view of the resort.
But Hey, it is not the only one mountain to trek. As I mentioned there is still one on the other side. Just like at Wishing mountain, we paid $1 for the entrance fee. This one is a little bit harder to climb up as there are no more made stairs. Not to mention that it rained the other night. It was only a trail and yes it was steep. One of my companions who grew up in the city was even having a hard time.
She also has acrophobia yet I admired her courage to go with us despite it.
It was only 8AM when we climbed up but there were already a lot of people at the summit. We even saw a couple having their PRE- nup shoot. Oh, sorry I did not take pictures of them as I might invade their privacy.
We were all sweating badly as we reached the summit and here are some of the photos I took
Overall I can say that the trip was worth it! You don't need to choose between trekking or spending time at the beach as you can actually have both.
Only, if you are planning to have a weekend getaway in a place like this, better to bring with you all things needed especially foods as prices in there were I think marked up by 300%.
That's all for today and thanks for reading.
