We made it! Yes, it's the slogan everyone uses when travelling the long dusty bumpy road up to the most northern part of Australia and so as much as I don't like to follow the crowds I'm still going to use the famous slogan 'we made it'! Cause we sure did, and for awhile there we thought it may have to wait another year. In May 2022 we had roughly planned to be at the most northern part of Australia, Cape York, to spend a few months up there before heading down the coast, however, due to things out of our control, plans changed and the trip was then a maybe it will happen, maybe it won't. But everything works out just how it should be and we are very thankful for the time we could spend up at Cape York. And yes a little bit of planning needs to go into this part of the world as far as timing and the months you can go, as once the rains start up the north, the roads turn into rivers, Plains turn into lakes, roads become impassable, therefore if we wanted to get up and see family before the rains returned for the season. So finally in September we were able to achieve our goal to make it to the most northernest point of the Australian continent! Yeeha!!!
We drove to the tip of Australia and explored the surrounding beaches, fishing, swimming and just loving life.
Punsand Bay! For me this place brought back a few memories, many years ago when I travelled up to Cape York with my siblings we performed a few shows at this iconic place. We did fire poi dancing and stock whip cracking, performed in a show that was always a huge hit for our audience, we were known as 'the whip cracker and his flamin' sisters', fun times and what a great experience and opportunity we had to travel as siblings before we settled down to start our own families. It was amazing to bring my family here and to have one of my sisters along with us, how things change in just a few years!
Beaches and lakes around the tip of Australia. Days exploring the beautiful coastline and freshwater lakes with crocodiles.
There's probably way more photos than words in this post, but a picture speaks a thousand words, and this beautiful part of the world was well worth photographing. I hope you enjoy🥰
