Following on from my last post in this community, contest #257, I'm sharing the rest of the street art that is part of the “Ao POSTIGO contigo” project. This initiative, organized by Coimbra City Council and the Almalaguês Sports and Cultural Association, brought together several artists in September 2024 to immortalize the art of weaving, so characteristic of this village in the district of Coimbra.
“Postigo” means a small window. Very characteristic of weavers' houses. They had two functions: to let natural light into the looms and to communicate with their partner. Yes, the first romantic encounters were made from the inside to the outside through these small windows, the “Postigo”.
Since then, Almalaguês has become a street art gallery, with pieces scattered around various houses with “Postigo”. Made by national and international artists.
All the street art pieces are identified with the original captions. They are in Portuguese but describe the title, dimensions and author's name.

As Tecedeiras de Almalaguês - Parte 2
Na sequência da minha ultima publicação nesta comunidade, edição #257, partilho as restantes artes de rua que fazem parte do projecto “Ao POSTIGO contigo”. Esta iniciativa, organizada pela Câmara Municipal de Coimbra e a Associação Desportiva e Cultural de Almalaguês (ADCA), juntou vários artistas em Setembro de 2024 para imortalizarem arte da tecelagem, tão característica desta aldeia que pertence ao distrito de Coimbra.

“Postigo” significa uma pequena janela. Muito características nas casas das tecedeiras. Tinham duas funções: entrada de luz natural para os teares e para namorarem. Sim, os primeiros encontros amorosos eram feitos do interior para o exterior através dessas pequenas janelas, os “postigos”.

Almalaguês passou a ser, desde então, uma galeria de arte de rua com peças espalhadas em diversas casas com “postigo”. Feitas por artistas nacionais e internacionais.

Todas aș peças de arte de rua estão identificadas com as legendas originais. Estão em português mas descrevem o título, dimensões e o nome do autor.
