Cordial greetings, urban art lovers, pleased to be able to join this week's appointment, in this wonderful community. I am going through a moment in my existence, where my lost and misguided emotionality, distills in spurts, ups and downs at dissolute rhythms so that my emotions and feelings are imbued with an exacerbated sensitivity. I have preventively put all my daily activities on hold, including the care of my patients. My patients deserve the best, I must be a solution for them. No, a problem. In this reconstruction of harmony, balance, and temperance, I let myself be seduced by everything that incites and seduces me to reflect and investigate my feelings.
My response and manifestation to explicit situations are diverse and heterogeneous, sometimes unpredictable. So is my link and relationship with what surrounds me specifically with artistic expressions in public spaces. I investigate and scrutinize what this art transmits to me through my visual perception, aiming for an emotional connection, as a form of self-recognition. I do not always succeed, not every urban canvas touches my most sensitive fibers.
Cordiales saludos, amantes del arte urbano, complacida de poder unirme a la cita de esta semana, en esta maravillosa comunidad. Atravieso un momento de mi existencia, donde mi emocionalidad perdida y descarriada, destila a borbotones, altibajos a ritmos disolutos, por lo que mis emociones y sentimientos están impregnados de una sensibilidad exacerbada. He aparcado preventivamente todas mis actividades cotidianas, incluyendo la atención a mis pacientes. Mis pacientes se merecen lo mejor, debo ser para ellos una solución. No, un problema. Y en esta reconstrucción de la harmonía, el equilibrio y la templanza, me dejo embaucar por todo aquello que me incita y seduce a reflexionar e indagar mi sentir.
Mi réplica y manifestación ante situaciones explícitas es diversa y heterogénea, en ocasiones impredecible. También lo es mi vínculo y relación con lo que me rodea y, en concreto, con las expresiones artísticas en espacios públicos. Indago y escudriño lo que este arte me transmite a través de mi percepción visual, pretendiendo una conexión emocional, como forma de autorreconocimiento. No siempre lo consigo, no todos los lienzos urbanos tocan mis fibras más sensibles.
But on this occasion that brings us together, the sharing of my mural goes beyond a proud finding, because for me it has been an experience of art therapy, being this urban canvas a vigorous cathartic instrument of emotions, a tool for discussion and reflection, with sublime therapeutic effects. Providing inputs in the evolution of the resignification of the route to follow, always looking for the progression of my life, in the process.
I continue to share the distinguished artistic creations of my country, Venezuela. The one I present to you today is in my town, very close to Plaza Bolivar, our main square. In spite of being close to the throbbing and dynamic plaza, the urban canvas is located in a clear and calm area, which imbricates in tune with the distinctive thing represented in it.
Pero en esta ocasión que nos reúne, el compartir mi mural va más allá de un orgulloso hallazgo, pues para mí ha sido una experiencia de arte-terapia, siendo este tejido urbano un vigoroso instrumento, catártico de emociones, herramienta de coloquio y cavilación, con sublimes efectos terapéuticos. Aportando insumos en el devenir de la resignificación de la ruta a seguir, buscando siempre la progresión de mi vivir, en el transcurso del proceso.
Sigo compartiendo con ustedes las distinguidas creaciones artísticas de mi país, Venezuela. La que hoy les presento se ubica en mi localidad, muy cerca de la Plaza Bolívar, nuestra plaza principal. A pesar de estar cercano a la palpitante y dinámica plaza, este tapiz urbano se encuentra en una zona despejada y calmosa, que se imbrica en sintonía con lo distintivo que en él se representa.

In this artistic weaving, I sketch an exquisite and enveloping landscape that to my impression is a sunset, with a palpitating sky, emperifoliated by clouds and a prominent sun, elusive to the retreat. Added to them, in exquisite synchrony, is a flamboyant lake with the silhouette of a sailboat in the distance, adorned by exuberant and prodigious vegetation.
It is a gift to the senses, full of creativity and tranquility. The signature “JMMayor” and the date “29-04-2024” are evident in its lower left level. The date may be associated with the creation of this inebriated sunset, or it may be a reference to the moment lived, the genesis of the creation and chiseling of this artistic work. Without overlooking the value that stands out to nature, by integrating the leafy mango tree to the composition of the mural.
En este tejido artístico, bosquejo un exquisito y envolvente paisaje que a mi impresión es un atardecer, con un palpitante cielo, emperifollado por las nubes y un prominente sol, pero esquivo al retiro. A ellos se adicionan, en primorosa sincronía, un flamante lago con la silueta de un velero en la lejanía, acicalados por la exuberante y prodigiosa vegetación.
Es un obsequio para los sentidos, lleno de creatividad y remanso. Son evidentes la firma “JMMayor” y el fechado “29-04-2024” en su nivel inferior izquierdo. Elucubrando, la fecha pudiese estar asociada a la creación de este ebrio atardecer, o pudiese ser una referencia al momento vivido, génesis de la creación y cincelado de esta obra artística. Sin pasar por alto el valor que resalta a la naturaleza, al integrar el frondoso árbol de mango a la composición del mural.

When I took the shots, it was a bright and overbearingly sunny day and I had my doubts about the results I would get in terms of sharpness. However, when I made the selection of the photographs, I noticed that a leafy mango tree did the magic by creating the right shade.
His color palette was special to me, persuasive and attractive, subversive and liberating of the most recondite of my perceptions and sensations. The judicious mix of warm and energetic oranges and yellows, generated diversification in its different ranges, seasoned and appeased by the clarity of white. The artist could match the energy of warmth with the overbearing and dominant shades of green, brown, and blue, darkened by the authoritative distinction of black.
Cuando realicé las tomas, era un día luminoso y prepotentemente soleado y tuve mis vacilaciones de los resultados que obtendría, en cuanto a la nitidez. Sin embargo, cuando hice la selección de las fotografías, me di cuenta que el frondoso árbol de mango hizo la magia, al generar la sombra propicia.
Su paleta de colores me resultó especial, persuasiva y atractiva, subversiva y liberadora de las más recóndito de mis percepciones y sensaciones. La juiciosa mezcolanza de cálidos y enérgicos naranjas y amarillos, generó diversificación en sus diferentes gamas, aderezadas y apaciguadas por la claridad del blanco. Fue la habilidad del artista que logró acompasar la energía de la calidez con las tonalidades prepotentes y dominantes del verde, el marrón y el azul, oscurecidas por la distinción autoritaria del negro.
Perhaps linked to my current situation, looking at this sunset, hybrid, and complex sensations emerged in me: sadness and melancholy for what was lost, but also serenity and calmness. It generated in me a jumble of symbolisms and evocations. It stung my inner world, stimulating self-exploration, confronting me with my truths, which I cannot alter, where the adventure is to transfigure in the changes, with resilience and adaptability.
At times I was engrossed and lethargic among its colors and figures, searching in my ipseity for the meaning that this urban tapestry gives me. It emerged with possession, the spell that nature exerts in the dynamic balance of my life. The sunset transcribes to me, that while I travel through this existence, I will transit in a constant immutable restart, in which it will be necessary to close cycles, giving power to the now, with the emancipation that generates the opportunity of new horizons.
Quizá coligado a mi situación actual, contemplando esta puesta de sol emergieron en mí híbridas y complexas sensaciones: tristeza y melancolía por lo perdido, pero también serenidad y sosiego. Generó en mi un revoltijo de simbolismos y evocaciones. Aguijoneó mi mundo interior, estimulando la autoexploración, afrontándome con mis verdades, las cuales no puedo alterar, donde la peripecia es transfigurarse en los cambios, con resiliencia y adaptabilidad.
Por momentos me quedé ensimismada y aletargada entre sus colores y figuras, buscando en mi ipseidad el sentido, que otorga para mí este tapiz urbano. Emergió con posesión, el sortilegio que la naturaleza ejerce en el equilibrio dinámico de mi vida. El atardecer me transcribe, que mientras recorra esta existencia, transitaré en un constante e inmutable reinicio, en el que será necesario cerrar ciclos, dando poder al ahora, con la emancipación que genera la oportunidad de nuevos horizontes.
