Hello everyone! 👋
How’s it going? I hope you’re all having a wonderful and relaxing weekend!
Mine’s been pretty chill — just stayed home with my wife, got some much-needed rest, and started packing a few things we’ll be bringing back home next week.
Anyway, let’s kick off the new week with my entry for the CCC's Street Art Contest #260, hosted weekly by the awesome @digi-me!
Big thanks to the Street Art Contest team for choosing my previous entry as one of the honorable mentions — really appreciate it!
If you’re into street art too, you’re more than welcome to join the contest.
Feel free to check out THIS LINK for more info.
THE DRAGON WITH ELECTRICITY
Can you spot the little sign of danger in the upper right corner of the artwork? Yep, that’s actually an electric box — right at the main entrance of Petaling Street!
The dragon mural seems to be inspired by the street itself, which is famously known as Chinatown, Kuala Lumpur. This area holds deep historical roots, as it was one of the first places where the Chinese community settled a long time ago. Over the years, it grew into a vibrant market where people came to buy and sell all kinds of goods.
Today, the area is still buzzing with trade, but it’s no longer predominantly run by the Chinese community. In fact, many non-Chinese and even non-locals have set up shop here too. While it’s a little sad to see the shift away from its traditional roots, the market still thrives with life and color.
And I really love this mural — it’s not just eye-catching and fun, but also a beautiful reminder of the street’s rich history.
