Introduction
Michael Saylor, the Executive Chairman of MicroStrategy, delivered a speech at Bitcoin 2025 titled "21 Ways to Wealth," offering advice for individuals, families, and small businesses on how to use Bitcoin to build riches.
This is my interpretation of his speech.
21 ways to build wealth: it's your mental mindset that makes you or breaks you.
He started his list with 1. Clarity, explaining that Bitcoin is "perfected capital"—meaning it's ideal money that cannot be corrupted. He believes every smart person and even AI systems will eventually prefer it. The second path is 2. Conviction, where Saylor argues Bitcoin will grow in value faster than any other asset, like real estate or collectibles, because it's the most efficient way to store value ever. For the third way, 3. Courage, he warned that getting rich with Bitcoin requires taking intelligent financial risks, suggesting that those who are bold enough to sell traditional investments and buy Bitcoin will see an "extraordinary explosion of value."
Saylor then moved to 4. Cooperation, stressing that families are more powerful when they support each other and transfer capital to younger generations. The fifth way is 5. Capability, which means mastering AI to become smarter and more creative, putting personal interests first. 6. Composition involves building legal entities that protect your money and help your strategy grow, urging everyone to act like a sophisticated millionaire's family office. For 7. Citizenship, he advised choosing to live where your financial freedom is respected, viewing it as a decision for the whole century.
The eighth point is 8. Civility, emphasizing respect for natural power structures and avoiding unnecessary fights within the Bitcoin world, as inflation and distraction are the real enemies. 9. Corporation is about using a well-structured company as a powerful engine to grow wealth globally. The tenth way is 10. Focus, warning against doing too many things and instead sticking to a clear Bitcoin investment strategy, as it has a high chance of success over five years.
He continued with 11. Equity, encouraging sharing opportunities with investors who will also share the risk, using MicroStrategy's growth as an example. 12. Credit involves offering security to those who are afraid of the future in exchange for their capital, then using that capital to invest in Bitcoin. For 13. Compliance, Saylor highlighted the importance of understanding and following market rules to grow legally and sustainably. The fourteenth way, 14. Capitalization, is about raising and reinvesting money as quickly and often as possible into productive Bitcoin strategies, because "velocity compounds wealth."
15. Communication is about speaking honestly, acting transparently, and repeating your message frequently so people understand your Bitcoin strategy. 16. Commitment means staying dedicated to Bitcoin and avoiding distractions or chasing other ideas. 17. Competence focuses on delivering consistent, precise, and reliable performance to succeed.
The eighteenth way is 18. Adaptation, acknowledging that circumstances change and you must be ready to adjust your plans and abandon old ideas. 19. Evolution means building on your existing strengths and leveling up through Bitcoin and new technologies instead of starting over. The twentieth point is 20. Advocacy, urging people to inspire others to join the Bitcoin movement and become "evangelists for economic freedom." Finally, the twenty-first way is 21. Generosity, encouraging those who become successful to spread happiness, share security, and deliver hope, allowing their positive influence to shine.
This is not written by Micheal Saylor, but is my interpretation and retelling of the tale, to share my insight on his insights. I hipe you enjoy them.
