Hola linda gente bonita de la blockchain, espero que todos estén pasando un bonito día, que sea provechoso y de lleno de todo aquello que los haga feliz.
Hoy quise compartir con ustedes una noticia que desde que me enteré, me puso muy contenta. Esa noticia fue el regreso del impreso al Oriente del país, en específico a mi ciudad natal Cumaná.
Hace pocos días navegando en redes, me topé con las historias de una periodista que había asistido a una reunión con colegas y profesionales del medio para el lanzamiento del nuevo periódico realizado por el equipo de @prensaorienteve. Lo cual me sorprendió bastante puesto que, la migración a los medios digitales y la monopolización del comercio del papel en Venezuela han disminuido la producción de los mismos.
Sin embargo, siendo estudiante de Comunicación Social, y habiendo realizado en el semestre pasado una visita al periódico El Tiempo, en Puerto la Cruz, estado Anzoátegui. Pude sentirme más cercana a la esencia de mi carrera y al trabajo que ejercían los periodistas y trabajadores de planta para llevar a cabo la transmisión de la información al medio impreso.
Today I wanted to share with you a piece of news that made me very happy since I heard about it. That news was the return of the print to the East of the country, specifically to my hometown Cumana.
A few days ago, while surfing on social networks, I came across the stories of a journalist who had attended a meeting with colleagues and professionals of the media for the launching of the new newspaper by the @prensaorienteve team. Which surprised me a lot since the migration to digital media and the monopolization of the paper trade in Venezuela have decreased the production of the same.
However, being a student of Social Communication, and having made in the last semester a visit to the newspaper El Tiempo, in Puerto la Cruz, Anzoátegui state. I can feel closer to the essence of my career and to the work that the journalists and workers of the plant carried out in order to transmit the information to the printed media.
Como comenté arriba, soy estudiante de Comunicación Social, y aunque impreso por los momentos no sea la rama hacia la que más me apego, si es una que me parece muy bonita e interesante porque siento que es la que más está cargada de historia, de la esencia, y enraizada a el principio de todo. Desde las Actas Diurnas, las gacetas, el papiro, hasta el primer periódico que existió tras la creación de la imprenta.
Es por ello, que luego de haber visto la información en redes y ver que iban a transformar el trabajo que ya venían haciendo con su medio digital en algo físico, no dudé en visitar uno de los establecimientos en donde están siendo repartidos que es más próximo a donde vivo para poder tenerlo.
Una mini anécdota que me pasó, es que pensé que una vez en los establecimientos en los que se van a distribuir, había que pagar el precio establecido que es de bs 15, pero no. Por los momentos son gratis en esta primera edición, a partir de la segunda que será dentro de dos semanas si hay que pagar por él.
So, when I saw this initiative in my city I thought it was a great news and something quite good, even though it may seem that paper and the traditional is no longer profitable.
As I mentioned above, I am a student of Social Communication, and although printing is not the branch to which I am most attached at the moment, it is one that I find very beautiful and interesting because I feel that it is the one that is most loaded with history, the essence, and rooted in the beginning of everything. From the Diurnal Acts, the gazettes, the papyrus, to the first newspaper that existed after the creation of the printing press.
That is why, after having seen the information in networks and seeing that they were going to transform the work they were already doing with their digital media into something physical, I did not hesitate to visit one of the establishments where they are being distributed, which is closer to where I live, in order to have it.
A mini anecdote that happened to me, is that I thought that once in the establishments where they are going to be distributed, I had to pay the established price which is Bs 15, but no. For the moment they are free in this first stage. At the moment they are free in this first edition, from the second one that will be in two weeks if you have to pay for it.
Mi opinión con respecto a él, es que me encanta que luego de 5 años haya vuelto, ya que la verdadera importancia que tiene un periódico más allá de que ya la gente prefiera ver los noticieros, o las plataformas digitales, hay que pensar en el ciudadano de a pie, en personas mayores o aquellos que no tienen el poder de acceder a las redes sociales y a la información que se transmite de manera masiva por ahí. Aunque el periódico no tenga la particularidad o ventaja que tiene la tecnología que es la retroalimentación y respuesta por parte de los usuarios, sirve para formar criterio en aquel que lo lea y al ser más accesible a los residentes, que por lo menos siento que en mi ciudad viven de una información un poco distorsionada y de fuentes que no siempre son confiables. A pesar de que en la actualidad hay varios medios de noticias regionales que a través de Instagram están haciendo un buen trabajo.
Así que el hecho de volver a tener un periódico en la ciudad es algo a resaltar, algo que aplaudir, porque a pesar de todos los avances de la tecnología y la evolución de los medios de comunicación, el contraste de tener siempre algo tangible u algo palpable que fomente la cultura del periodismo, promueva el derecho a la información y vuelva a darle a la población la ventaja de crear opinión y mantenerse al día de lo que acontece en su entorno, es maravilloso.
So the fact of having a newspaper in the city again is something to highlight, something to applaud, because despite all the advances in technology and the evolution of the media, the contrast of always having something tangible or something palpable that encourages the culture of journalism, promotes the right to information and again gives the population the advantage of creating opinion and keep abreast of what is happening in their environment, is wonderful.
