Definamos a Hive con un poco de filosofía
Definir Hive en una sola frase puede ser un poco cuesta arriba, de manera técnica podemos decir "Hive es un protocolo blockchain de web3", pero, también hay otros modos de definir a Hive en una frase y no de manera tecnica, la siguiente definición la oí del señor Ylich (Lider del proyecto La Colmena y Witness): "Hive es lo que tu quieras que sea." Una definición, asombrosa porque evidencia la posibilidad de construir y desarrollar en Hive el proyecto que se desee.
Defining Hive in a single phrase can be a bit uphill, technically we can say "Hive is a web3 blockchain protocol", but there are also other ways to define Hive in a phrase and not technically, the following definition I heard from Mr. Ylich (Leader of the La Colmena project and Witness): "Hive is what you want it to be." A definition, amazing because it evidences the possibility of building and developing the project you want on Hive.
Como lo he dicho en otras oportunidades, siempre ando mirando las cosas desde la filosofía y desde hace algún tiempo he venido pensando en otra definición, intentando darle alguna pincelada de filosofía. Y fue cuando recordé una frase acuñada por el filosofo Jaques Derridá: "La filosofía es a experiencia de lo imposible".
As I've said before, I'm always looking at things from a philosophical perspective and, for some time now, I've been thinking about another definition, trying to give it a philosophical touch. And that's when I remembered a phrase coined by the philosopher Jaques Derridá: "Philosophy is the experience of the impossible".
La frase "La filosofía es la experiencia de lo imposible" es una expresión de la búsqueda de Derrida de una verdad que esté más allá de las categorías del pensamiento tradicional. Es una invitación a explorar lo desconocido y a desafiar lo establecido. En resumen, Derridá sabe que para ir más allá en sentido filosófico, hay que desafiar lo establecido. Considerar eso hizo que me preguntara: ¿Acaso eso no es lo que pretende la web3 a nivel digital?
The phrase "Hive is the experience of the impossible" is an expression of Derrida's search for a truth that is beyond the categories of traditional thought. It is an invitation to explore the unknown and to challenge the established. In short, Derrida knows that to go further in a philosophical sense, one must challenge the established. Considering that made me wonder: Isn't that what web3 is all about at the digital level?
Web3 es desafiar lo establecido, y al reflexionar esto fue cuando pensé en sustituir de la frase la palabra filosofía por la palabra Hive, de modo que quedaría de la siguiente manera:

Web3 is about challenging the established, and reflecting on this is when I thought about substituting the word philosophy for the word Hive in the phrase, so that it would read as follows:
Hive is the experience of the impossible
Pero, ¿Qué significa realmente frase? Del modo en el cual lo pensé, es que Hive nos permite explorar lo desconocido y desafiar lo establecido. Desarrollar nuevos modelos de negocio, nuevos modelos de relacionarnos con el internet. Web3 es eso que pretende cambiar el modo en el cual hacemos las cosas en el internet y también más allá del internet, porque los valores que busca implementar la web3 son son valores que hacen que debamos repensar todo el sistema tal cual lo conocemos.
Hive es la experiencia de lo imposible, porque nos esta permitiendo el desarrollo de proyectos de un modo en el cual nunca habíamos pensado. Es muy fácil afirmar Hive es la experiencia de lo imposible, pero ¿Qué es lo que realmente implica? Para intentar apuntar un poco en la dirección del significado creo puede ser conveniente detenernos brevemente en las ideas del filosofo Jaques Derrida sobre la filosofía como experiencia de lo imposible pueden ayudarnos a comprender mejor el potencial de Hive como lugar para la innovación y el cambio social.
But, what does phrase really mean? The way I thought about it, is that Hive allows us to explore the unknown and challenge the established. Develop new business models, new models of relating to the internet. Web3 is what is trying to change the way we do things on the internet and also beyond the internet, because the values that web3 seeks to implement are values that make us rethink the entire system as we know it.
Hive is the experience of the impossible, because it is allowing us the development of projects in a way that we had never thought about before. It is very easy to affirm Hive is the experience of the impossible, but what does that really imply? To try to point out a little in the direction of the meaning I think it may be convenient to stop briefly in the ideas of the philosopher Jaques Derrida about philosophy as the experience of the impossible can help us better understand the potential of Hive as a place for innovation and social change.
Para Derrida, la filosofía es una búsqueda incesante, una búsqueda que nos lleva a los límites de nuestro entendimiento. La filosofía en sí misma nos lleva a cuestionar los supuestos que damos por sentado, a explorar nuevas posibilidades y a imaginar nuevos mundos.
For Derrida, philosophy is an incessant search, a search that leads us to the limits of our understanding. Philosophy itself leads us to question the assumptions we take for granted, to explore new possibilities and to imagine new worlds.
De manera similar considero que Hive es aquello que nos permite explorar nuevas posibilidades. Hive nos permite conectarnos con personas de todo el mundo, aprender sobre diferentes culturas y perspectivas, y compartir nuestras propias ideas y experiencias, aunque en este punto, no parece diferenciarse mucho Hive del internet convencional.
Similarly, I consider Hive to be that which allows us to explore new possibilities. Hive allows us to connect with people from all over the world, learn about different cultures and perspectives, and share our own ideas and experiences, although at this point, Hive does not seem to differ much from the conventional internet.
En resumen Hive tiene el potencial de desafiar las estructuras de poder existentes, cosa que puede parecer algo bastante complejo. Por ejemplo, Hive puede ser utilizada para dar voz a personas que han sido marginadas o silenciadas. Hive también puede ser utilizada para promover la democracia y la justicia social, es por ello que en países como Ghana,Venezuela y Cuba ha tenido tanto crecimiento y relevancia.
In short, Hive has the potential to challenge existing power structures, which can seem quite complex. For example, Hive can be used to give voice to people who have been marginalized or silenced. Hive can also be used to promote democracy and social justice, which is why it has grown and been so relevant in countries like Ghana, Venezuela, and Cuba.
Por ultimo, el potencial de Hive para hacer del mundo un lugar mejor, más justo e innovador dependerá de cómo sea utilizada. Allí es donde la comunidad entra como protagonista del cambio. Sin embargo, las ideas de Derrida sobre la filosofía como experiencia de lo imposible me hacen pensar que Hive tiene el potencial de revolucionar la forma en que interactuamos y entendemos al mundo.
Solo es cuestión de tiempo para que Hive llegue a todos los espacios y todas las personas volteen a ver las posibilidades de Hive, y como protocolo blockchain de web3, que realmente permite la edificación de proyectos que realmente desafíen el estatus quo.

Finally, Hive's potential to make the world a better, fairer, and more innovative place will depend on how it is used. That's where the community comes in as a protagonist of change. However, Derrida's ideas about philosophy as an experience of the impossible make me think that Hive has the potential to revolutionize the way we interact and understand the world.
It is only a matter of time before Hive reaches all spaces and all people turn to see the possibilities of Hive, and as a web3 blockchain protocol, it really allows the construction of projects that really challenge the status quo.
