¿Tema o problema? / Issue or problem?

Respondiendo a la interrogante que el título nos propone, pienso que depende desde el punto de vista de quien lo mire.

Desde el punto de vista fisiológico, el hambre es considerada como una necesidad de todos los seres vivos, que debe ser satisfecha para poder dar continuidad a la vida. Se convierte en una patología cuando no es cubierta a tiempo o cuando se hace en forma deficiente, provocando trastornos de desnutrición que afectan seriamente la salud.

Desde el punto de vista político , es un tema importante para hacer campaña y ofrecer comida a cambio de votos, hecho tan antiguo que fue utilizado en la antigua Roma, para mantener al pueblo contento. El emperador acostumbraba repartir panes a la gente que asistía al circo en los espectáculos de la época, a fin que se olvidaran de otras necesidades o problemas que no podía o no quería atender de inmediato. De allí viene la frase "pan y circo".

Desde el punto de vista social, cuando vemos las estadísticas que muestra la ONU que solo en América Latina existen 43 millones de personas con Hambre, estamos en presencia de un problema de grandes dimensiones.

Estas estadísticas reflejan una realidad ineludible: el hambre se ha convertido en un problema mundial que debe ser atacado desde su raíz. Si continuamos tapando la realidad con soluciones pasajeras lo que hacemos es atenuar la situación sin llegar a solucionarla.

In answer to the question that the title proposes, I think it depends on the point of view of the person who looks at it.
From the physiological point of view, hunger is considered a need of all living beings, which must be satisfied in order to give continuity to life. It becomes a pathology when it is not met in time or when it is poorly met, causing malnutrition disorders that seriously affect health.
From the political point of view, it is an important issue for campaigning and offering food in exchange for votes, a fact so old that it was used in ancient Rome to keep the people happy. The emperor used to hand out bread to the people who attended the circus in the shows of the time, so that they would forget about other needs or problems that he could not or did not want to attend to immediately. This is where the phrase “bread and circuses” comes from.
From the social point of view, when we see the statistics shown by the UN that in Latin America alone there are 43 million people with Hunger, we are in the presence of a problem of great dimensions.
These statistics reflect an inescapable reality: hunger has become a global problem that must be tackled at its root. If we continue to cover up the reality with temporary solutions, what we are doing is attenuating the situation without actually solving it.

¿Por qué hay hambre en el mundo?/ Why there is hunger in the world?

Voy a mencionar dos causas que no las he tomado de ningún libro o publicación. Son el resultado de mi experiencia y percepción de la vida que he adquirido a través de los años ( no son tantos).
Si no estás de acuerdo, no hay ningún problema, después de todo es una simple opinión muy particular.

• Desigualdad social

Cuando Dios creó al hombre lo hizo a su imagen y semejanza, es decir: somos imagen de Dios. Si esto es así por qué entonces el hombre ha diferenciado a los seres humanos según su condición social, sus creencias o nivel económico? Esto ha traído como consecuencia que exista la pobreza y por ende la incapacidad de adquirir los bienes de primera necesidad, comenzando por la alimentación de los pueblos.

Los gobiernos se han dedicado a la atención de alguna parte de la población dejando a la otra desguarnecida y a su riesgo

• Mala distribución de la explotación alimentaria

La producción de alimentos a nivel mundial no se hace con el debido control, a fin de optimizarlos para garantizar que lleguen a todos los rincones del mundo. Siempre prevalecen intereses particulares que desvían la ayuda a otros lugares menos favorecidos.

I am going to mention two causes that I have not taken from any book or publication. They are the result of my experience and perception of life that I have acquired through the years (they are not so many).
If you disagree, there is no problem, after all it is just a very particular opinion.

• Social inequality
  When God created man he made him in his image and likeness, that is: we are the image of God. If this is so, why then has man differentiated human beings according to their social condition, beliefs or economic level? This has resulted in poverty and therefore the inability to acquire basic necessities, starting with food for the people.
  The governments have dedicated themselves to the attention of some part of the population leaving the other unprotected and at risk.
• The food exploitation poor distribution**.
  The production of food at world level is not carried out with the due control, in order to optimize it to guarantee that it reaches all the corners of the world. Particular interests always prevail and divert aid to other less favored places.

¿Qué podemos hacer nosotros?/ What can we do?

Es claro que para lograr erradicar el hambre del mundo hace falta cambiar muchos paradigmas que se han enraizado en la sociedad y establecer políticas que beneficien a todos los seres humanos por igual. No es una tarea fácil hacer que todos los jefes de las naciones trabajen unidos en pro de buscarle una solución a tan grave flagelo, tomando en cuenta que muchos de ellos solo piensan en el expansionismo de su poderío para ser los dominantes del planeta.
Pero si cada uno de nosotros, simples mortales que no tenemos poder económico, contribuimos en nuestra zona de acción asistiendo a nuestros hermanos más cercanos y mas necesitados, pienso que estaríamos dando un gran paso para avanzar a una solución a nivel macro.

A este respecto, la iglesia a través de cáritas está haciendo esa labor de hormiga, pero necesita que cada día nos sumemos a los voluntarios que dedican parte de su tiempo a hacer labor social.

Viene a mi mente el coro de la canción de John Lennon, Imagine:
"Pueden decir que soy un soñador. Pero no soy el único. Espero que algún día te unas a nosotros. Y el mundo será uno"

It is clear that in order to eradicate hunger from the world, it is necessary to change many paradigms that have taken root in society and to establish policies that benefit all human beings equally. It is not an easy task to make all the heads of nations work together to find a solution to such a serious scourge, taking into account that many of them only think about the expansionism of their power to be the dominants of the planet.
But if each one of us, simple mortals who have no economic power, contribute in our area of action by assisting our closest and most needy brothers and sisters, I think we would be taking a big step towards a solution at a macro level.
In this regard, the church, through Caritas, is doing a lot of work, but it needs that every day we join the volunteers who dedicate part of their time to do social work.
The chorus of John Lennon's song, Imagine, comes to mind:
**"They may say I'm a dreamer. But I'm not the only one. I hope someday you'll join us. And the world will be one".
