Estuve leyendo los temas para el mes de junio y me pareció buena idea poder hablar del que toca el día de hoy: ¿Quién es responsable cuando una IA toma una decisión con implicaciones morales?. El tema de la inteligencia artificial es amplio y hay muchas personas en contra de esta nueva tecnología como otras que apoyan la manera moderna de poder aprender cosas nuevas e incluso interactuar con la inteligencia artificial como si se tratase de un ser humano.
Hello friends of the Humanitas community, I hope you are well today ☺️👋🏼. I was reading the topics for the month of June and I thought it was a good idea to talk about today's topic: Who is responsible when an AI makes a decision with moral implications. The topic of artificial intelligence is broad and there are many people against this new technology as well as others who support the modern way of being able to learn new things and even interact with artificial intelligence as if it were a human being.
No recuerdo cuando comenzó todo, creo que fue después de la pandemia que empezaron a salir las aplicaciones para teléfonos de inteligencia artificial como Chatgpt entre otras. Recuerdo que era muy extraño para muchos el contemplar la idea de que exista una aplicación que puede "conversar" contigo mientras le preguntas sobre cualquier tema, ya que básicamente está diseñada para responder de manera "correcta" a las preguntas que las personas deseen hacerle. Fue una idea que le sirvió a muchos jóvenes para poder aprender nuevas cosas o sacar información para su uso escolar.
I don't remember when it all started, I think it was after the pandemic that artificial intelligence phone apps like Chatgpt among others started coming out. I remember that it was very strange for many to contemplate the idea that there is an application that can "chat" with you while you ask it about any topic, since it is basically designed to respond in a "correct" way to the questions that people want to ask it. It was an idea that served many young people to learn new things or get information for school use.
Sin embargo, esto de la inteligencia artificial ha traído conflicto entre las personas ya que se sabe que una aplicación nunca podrá reemplazar a un ser humano, ya que está no razona ni tiene sentimientos mucho menos puede considerarse como alguien en la que pongamos nuestra plena confianza. Ahí es donde el pensamiento critico debe hacernos replantear para qué es que usamos este tipo de aplicaciones, si para aprender e informarnos o para un uso indebido cómo hacer articulos o trabajos totalmente hechos con inteligencia artificial.
However, this artificial intelligence has brought conflict among people since it is known that an application can never replace a human being, since it does not reason or have feelings, much less can it be considered as someone in whom we put our full confidence. That is where critical thinking should make us rethink what we use this type of applications for, whether to learn and inform us or for misuse as making articles or works totally made with artificial intelligence.
Desde el año pasado he utilizado la IA para ver de que se trataba todo esto, me encontré con que realmente es util a la hora de querer llenarnos de conocimiento y saber nuevas cosas, también nos ayuda a organizar más nuestro día a día y se puede usar como una herramienta cuando tengamos dudas sobre un tema en específico. Obviamente aquí en Hive está prohibido el uso de la IA ya que todos deberíamos escribir desde nuestras propias ideas y no abusar del uso de la IA para crear contenido o al menos no un post completo donde toda la información sea sacada de la IA.
Since last year I have used AI to see what it was all about, I found that it is really useful when we want to fill ourselves with knowledge and know new things, it also helps us to organize more our day to day and can be used as a tool when we have doubts about a specific topic. Obviously here in Hive the use of AI is forbidden since we should all write from our own ideas and not abuse the use of AI to create content or at least not a complete post where all the information is taken from the AI.
Me gusta poder utilizarla para entender ciertas cosas que se me dificultan, también la había usado para mejorar la gramática de mis post pero eso está prohibido en la plataforma de manera que trato de hacer los post y luego leerlos por completo para que todo se lea adecuadamente. También en la IA podemos encontrar que esta nos responde a preguntas más personales y esto si lo veo como un problema, ya que muchos sobre todo jóvenes lo utilizan como si se tratara de un terapeuta y cuentan todos sus problemas a la aplicación.
I like to be able to use it to understand certain things that are difficult for me, I had also used it to improve the grammar of my posts but that is prohibited on the platform so I try to make the post and then read them completely so that everything is read properly. Also in the AI we can find that it answers more personal questions and this if I see it as a problem, since many especially young people use it as if it were a therapist and tell all their problems to the application.
¿Quién es responsable cuando una IA toma una decisión con implicaciones morales? Sin duda he visto casos donde las personas han resultado heridas de gravedad e incluso han llegado a morir debido al mal uso de la inteligencia artificial y es algo que llama mucho la atención y llena de preocupación. Muchos se preguntan que quien tiene la culpa, unos dicen que los creadores de tales aplicaciones y otros también piensan que los padres deben estar más atentos a lo que hacen sus hijos con el uso del internet. Es complicado llegar a una sola conclusión.
Who is responsible when an AI makes a decision with moral implications? I have certainly seen cases where people have been seriously injured or even killed due to the misuse of artificial intelligence and it is something that draws a lot of attention and fills us with concern. Many wonder who is to blame, some say that the creators of such applications and others also think that parents should be more attentive to what their children do with the use of the Internet. It is complicated to come to a single conclusion.
Creo que se unen muchos factores para que la IA pueda resultar peligrosa en algunas personas, sobre todo en aquellas que se encuentran vulnerables y usan este medio para sentirse acompañados y escuchados cosa que no encuentran en su vida real. Los creadores de las aplicaciones deben tener una serie de reglas e impedimentos para que su uso no sea de mala manera y los que son padres deberían estar más cerca de sus hijos, porque es preocupante ver qué un joven busque una ayuda a través de internet o en este caso de la inteligencia artificial. Esa es mi forma de pensar y creo que mientras se le de el uso correcto a la IA no habrá muchos problemas ni será el reemplazo de lo que los seres humanos podemos llegar a hacer.
I think that many factors come together so that AI can be dangerous for some people, especially those who are vulnerable and use this medium to feel accompanied and listened to, something they do not find in their real life. The creators of the applications must have a series of rules and impediments so that its use is not in a bad way and those who are parents should be closer to their children, because it is worrying to see what a young person seeks help through the internet or in this case artificial intelligence. That is my way of thinking and I believe that as long as AI is used in the right way there will not be many problems and it will not replace what human beings can do.
