Hello family, welcome to another Thursday in ordinary times welcome to another Rolla Costa of the unfolding of event, hope you all are doing okay and perfect so happy to be back here and today I would be talking about my first experience in the farm over here, I know you would just be imagining what took a student to farm just follow me as you catch up.
A student actually have many means of survival apart from been dependant on their parents and farming in a place like pankshin is definitely one of them, so one fateful Sunday which was actually last week Sunday after church services one of my course mate just randomly said she was going to farm and I thought why not follow her because it was at my leisure plus a means to explore the farming section of pankshin.
It was a really long walk and only me seemed tired because according to them they were used to the walk already been that they usually come here, so the first plant I saw was cabbage that was my first time of me seeing how it is planted, I only buy it in the market and eat but seeing it today gave me goose bumps all over my body and my love for that vegetable started to grow more but we had to move forward because that is not our final bus stop.
Still on the walking process we saw this lovely panted potatoes so green and fresh, sitting attractively and at the same time calling my name, at that moment It just occur to me that it has been long I ate potatoes and am planning on visiting the market to buy them and prepare it do not worry when I cook potatoes i would invite you guys for a feast.
And we are finally here at the tomatoes farm, well one thing I missed out was that we actually do not have an exact farm so we went to the farm are with the expectation that we would help anybody farming and after we are done helping, the owner would fetch for us tomatoes and if we want more we would go back to the farm and harvest the ones the owner left behind meaning he rejected them because they are not strong, so getting there luckily for us we met a man and his son harvesting their tomatoes we asked if we can help out and he said yes.
Farming is not child's play, am not the farming type so am not a regular visitor to the farm which made it really hard to work fast like others, it was not easy we had to bend through out selecting the good and gathering the spoilt ones in one place while plugging the tomatoes, in my calculations we were there up to 3-4 hours harvesting like it was never going to end until we cleared the farm.
I also noticed something very important, there was wells at every corner of the farm and to any person like me who is not familiar to this kind of environment would fall inside with out know and I later got to know that the wells which were around was used to water the plant in their season, and the has stocked to my brain ever since.
After we were done the man appreciated us very well and I saw his gratitude even through his gestures he filled the bucket we came with which was three buckets and he said if we want the ones left in the farm we can go and get it, so happy that we turned the ones he gave us inside the sack each of us carried along and took any empty bucket back in to the farm.
At the end of the day we had a sack full of tomatoes with almost half bucket of tomatoes in our hands each, we were actually three ladies that went on this harvest much. We were so happy to have sacrificed our time, efforts and human strength to be here because it really paid at the end of the day.
I still remain your faithfully @graceze, thank you for going through this memories with me I hope you enjoyed your self, please leave a comment below the box of what your view is on this our mission.
