I had almost forgotten about this series, but I guess not everyone writes in their diarrhea ( now I think of it, that would be pretty nasty ) diary on a daily basis.
This afternoon, I attended yet another amazing 3 hour video call with @clareartista , a so called 'Co-Creation Session', and we had @shanibeer joining in for a bit too.
These conversations around creativity, life, health, money and so much more! are super important for me, extremely powerful.
Which brings me to earlier this day, the start of this afternoon, when my doorbell BUZZED, while I was chewing on my last bit of lunch and listening to a podcast. It was, in fact, Clare's latest episode of her 'The Art of Life' series, recorded yesterday. In this particular episode she talks about what she coined 'The Anti-Muse'
I recommend you listen to it here.
Back to the BUZZER bringing me into the now...
When I picked up the receiver, I heard two excited children's voices - my 7 year old niece and nephew - and as soon as I buzzed them in, they ran up the stairs and hugged me.
I asked whether their mom and her boyfriend were around ( and they answered YES ) and if they wanted to have a drink or an ice-cream together. They answered YES! and then I already heard my twin sister's voice, outside.
I told them I had to change into shorts ( the day had started out fresh ) and didn't have much time but definitely more than enough for a drink and/ or ice-cream.
When I told them I was available up till 2 PM, my niece replied something along the lines of:
"You have to be home for your 'creative call'..."
Clever girl :<)
It made me smile, as her brother and her were at my place, a couple of weeks ago, when I had my weekly Co-Creation video call with Clare and others ( this time around: @selfhelp4trolls ) and I decided to bring the two of them on ( as suggested by Clare ). These two highly creative creatures - I raised them well - ended up making some awesome art and I basically assisted them in their creative process, without creating anything myself haha!
I also smiled, after my niece's remark, because she already seems to understand how important these couple of hours - focused around creativity and around having deep conversations with people who really understand me - are for me. Or, especially, how important creativity is ( for me ).
So, after enjoying an hour with my niece, nephew, twin sister and my sister's boyfriend, I arrived back home, just after 1:30, with plenty of time to prepare for this afternoon's Co-Creation Session.
During the 3 hour session, Clare managed to work on a piece of clothing, while talking and listening and I managed to plunk away at my ukulele for a minute, hold a green crayon and talk and listen.
Yes, I did a lot of talking this time and it was time well spent.
In fact, I don't even mind not creating, during these sessions, as I know what they lead to: they have a powerful effect on my life and creative process, no matter what I end up doing during them.
HERE ENDS TODAY"S DIARRHEA OF A CREATIVE...
I hope you're spending your time well, wherever you are, without totally supressing your creative side.
After all, expression is the opposite of depression.
This picture shows the nearby park, that I pretty much visit daily. It was taken this morning, before I had a coffee and a li'l snack at my favorite terrace. I really like the little swallow, at the bottom right.
The picture above this post is from yesterday's evening walk, when it was a lot warmer than this morning.
