This is my participation in @elpausero's #Rules4Voting initiative which I think is an excellent opportunity to reflect on both sides of the coin. Usually we are always on the creator's side looking for the whale's vote, but we also play an important role, even if we don't have voting power. In my case I decided to give back to the community by helping people who are starting out.
Voting content
What I value most in a publication is the original content, zero tolerance for plagiarism. That when using third-party images they have the source correctly. It is also nice that they have a good format in the publication, although that is something that improves over time and is not as serious as stealing content.
Unfortunately my voting power is almost zero, so regulating your percentage of power when you vote would be useless, it would make no difference, so I vote for everything 100% and yes of course I have a problem with that, as I would like to award the reward more realistically, but for my voting power it is useless to regulate percentage.
If I had a greater voting power, I would obviously regulate their percentage of the vote. I understand that each curator decides his or her own criteria, which for one curator may be worth one vote for another not, but my thought is that an artist who spends a week making an oil painting cannot receive the same percentage of vote as a person who makes a selfie in the house.
However, the power of the community must also be taken into account, as it may be the case that one community of artists does not have much voting power and another community that uploads more generic content if it has whales with greater voting power. There are many factors to take into account why a work is not valued as it deserves.
The real change must come from the whales, valuing the content based on their quality and effort, leaving the policy of voting the most possible to get more return. Yes, unfortunately there are many whales that vote only with return in mind, so they vote as much as possible every day, no matter how much effort a person puts in, they simply have a standard percentage that they vote for everyone.
Creating content
I still have nightmares about what Steemit was like, how almost impossible it was to get voted in. Especially if you were doing content in Spanish. There was a mafia around a Hispanic group that if you didn't have their blessing it was almost impossible to get voted in.
My first valued post was the first one I made when I decided to start over here at Hive blog almost two months ago. It was incredible to be voted, the best thing of all, is that behind many of those votes there were Hispanic communities like Alebrijes.
Obviously receiving votes and comments was very stimulating, of course I wanted to improve, but more than improving I wanted to experiment, I admit that I love writing, but the writings are not so voted and there is also the fact that it is boring to do always the same. In the variety is the taste of life.
It's no secret that money conditions everything, that many people are behind the whales, looking for subjects that they like and trying to define what tastes they have in order to adapt to them and receive their votes. I must confess that when I started I had that thought.
I currently create content with which I am comfortable and happy, experimenting as much as possible within my free time. Although there is always the temptation to create complacent content for a whale, that is something that will never leave your thoughts because it works and cannot be denied.
Final Reflection
Both sides of the coin are difficult no matter what we think. Being a whale is not easy, every day there are more publications on the platform and it is mathematically impossible to vote for everyone in the right measure, plus if you want to do a real job reviewing each publication thoroughly it is even more complicated to cover the entire platform.
Being a creator it is also too complicated not to fall into the vices of creating complacent content, of making filler themes to see if you catch something. Of joining the wave that many surfers are looking for that vote that will save your theme and not remain at zero. I don't criticize those ways of acting since we don't know what the economic situation of each creator is.
Although there is something I would like to say to close the subject and that is that I am totally against the use of services that allow you to take all your part of the publication without going through HP. I don't give the name because I don't want to advertise and support the curators who are refusing to vote for the publications that use it.
It is up to us to take care of the platform and make it grow, not everything can be profit. Let's learn to enjoy the path of creating content, it is very satisfying to receive messages of thanks for what you teach. Enjoy the process!

Esta es mi participación en la iniciativa #Rules4Voting de @elpausero la cual me parece una excelente oportunidad para reflexionar sobre los dos lados de la moneda, por lo general siempre estamos del lado creador buscando el voto de las ballenas, pero nosotros también jugamos un papel importante, aunque no tengamos poder de voto. En mi caso decidí aportar a la comunidad ayudando a las personas que empiezan.
Votando contenido
Lo que más valoro en una publicación es el contenido original, cero tolerancias al plagio. Que cuando usen imágenes de terceros tengan la fuente correctamente. También es agradable que tengan un buen maquetado del tema, aunque eso es algo que se mejora con el tiempo y no es tan grave como robar contenido.
Lamentablemente mi poder de voto es casi nulo, así que regular su porcentaje de poder a la hora de votar sería inútil, no haría diferencia alguna, con lo cual todo lo voto al 100% y si tengo problema con ello, ya que me gustaría otorgar la recompensa de forma más realista, pero por mi poder de voto es inútil regular porcentaje.
Si tuviera un poder de voto mayor obvio que regularía su porcentaje a la hora de votar. Entiendo que cada curador decide sus criterios, lo que para un curador puede merecer un valor de voto para otro no, pero mi pensamiento es que un artista que pasar una semana haciendo una pintura al óleo no puede recibir el mismo porcentaje de voto que una persona que se hace una selfie en la casa.
Aunque también se debe tener en cuenta el poder de la comunidad, ya que puede darse el caso que una comunidad de artistas no cuente con mucho poder de voto y otra comunidad que sube contenido más genérico si tenga grandes ballenas. Hay muchos factores a tener en cuenta de porqué un trabajo no es valorado como se merece.
El cambio real debe venir de las ballenas, valorando el contenido basado en su calidad y esfuerzo, dejando la política de votar los más posibles para sacar más retorno. Si, lamentablemente hay muchas ballenas que votan pensando solo en el retorno, por lo cual votan la mayor cantidad posible cada día, sin importar mucho el esfuerzo de la persona, simplemente tienen un porcentaje estándar con el que votan a todo el mundo.
Creando contenido
Todavía tengo pesadillas de cómo era Steemit, lo casi imposible que era ser votado. Sobre todo, si hacías contenido en español. Existía una mafia en torno a un grupo hispano que sino tenías su bendición era prácticamente imposible ser votado.
Mi primera publicación valorada justamente fue la primera que hice cuando decidí volver empezar aquí en Hive blog hace casi dos meses. Fue increíble ser votado, lo mejor de todo, es que detrás de muchos de esos votos había comunidades hispanas como Alebrijes.
Obvio que recibir votos y comentarios fue muy estimulante, claro que quería mejorar, pero más que mejorar quería experimentar, admito que me encanta escribir, pero los escritos no son tan votados y también está el hecho que es aburrido hacer siempre lo mismo. En la variedad está el gusto de la vida.
No es un secreto para nadie que el dinero de por medio condiciona todo, que muchas personas están detrás de las ballenas, buscando temas que les agraden y tratando de definir qué gustos tienen para amoldarse a ellos y recibir sus votos. Debo confesar que cuando empecé tuve ese pensamiento.
Actualmente creo el contenido con el cual yo esté a gusto y contento, experimentando lo más posible dentro de mi tiempo libre. Aunque siempre está la tentación de crear contenido complaciente para una ballena, eso es algo que nunca saldrá de los pensamientos porque funciona y no se puede negar.
Reflexión final
Los dos lados de la moneda son difíciles sin importar lo que pensemos. Ser una ballena no es nada fácil, cada día hay más temas en la plataforma y es matemáticamente imposible votar a todos en su justa medida, además si desean hacer un trabajo real revisando cada tema a fondo es más complicado todavía cubrir toda la plataforma.
Siendo creador también es demasiado complicado no caer en los vicios de crear contenido complaciente, de hacer temas de relleno para ver si se pesca algo. De unirse a la ola que muchos surfean en busca ese voto que salve tu tema y no quede en cero. No critico esas formas de actuar ya que no sabemos cuál sea la situación económica de cada creador.
Aunque hay algo que sí me gustaría decir para ir cerrando el tema y es que estoy totalmente en contra del uso de los servicios que permiten llevarse toda tu parte del tema sin pasar por el HP. No doy nombre porque no quiero hacerles publicidad y apoyo a los curadores que se están negando a votar los temas que hacen uso de ello.
En nosotros está el cuidar la plataforma y hacerla crecer, no todo puede ser sacar ganancia. Aprendamos a disfrutar del camino de crear contenido, es muy satisfactorio recibir mensajes de agradecimiento por lo que enseñas. ¡Disfruta del proceso!
