I wanted to make sure I reported on our recent Hive-Engine achievements, remember we are running a proposal on the WorkerBEE DAO, and I feel responsible for using that money to do exactly as we promised, for the betterment of hive-engine, which includes maintenance and upkeep.
While we keep everything updated in the Swarm of Swarms weekly activity that you can find on @hivetoday - and should support! In open source this kind of agile development practice is ESSENTIAL - I like to organize everything for the grant "reporting" as well, as this is part of project management and keeps everyone on the same page, across the community of different types of users.
Major smt-engine refactor
As reported by @thecrazygm, while working on our own layer 2 rewardification project, we stumbled upon the SMT distribution node that has been affecting, as far as I can tell, many tribes in the layer 2 communities.
Our pull request was accepted, and merged. Now it will be easier to resync and more dependable than ever - and remember that this is another component of hive-engine that "everyone can run their own node". Its much easier to do that now with a dependency cleaning, batch processing, better configurations, and beem to hive-nectar transition.
Additional PRs delivered
Additionally, we had PR 119 - an upgrade for mondgo and node versions on the testing scripts which still needs a bit of work to get accepted, and PR 122 which is a nullBlock fix useful for resync - and has been accepted.
For these deliverables, payment of the grant money was made!
NFTmaker development
It has long been a quest to make a complete tool that could help people use the hive-engine NFTs smart contract to greater effect. The default interface on tribaldex just isn't quite verbose enough, nor does it have all the available options. While most devleopers have "cast their own custom jsons", having a nice interface is so important to really be able to test out the technology.
The NFTmaker isn't quite ready for public consumption yet, as it definitely needs better tool tips, and possibly links to the documentation in the github repo for certain parameters.
But we did pay 37 dollars to @mirafun for a new update designed to allow a "fake" token in cache so users can play with the tool without having to have a token. Go to "New Symbol" and fill out the token properties and hit "SAVE" to test it out.
Slowly but surely we hope to add another useful tool into the hive-engine smart contract ecosystem with the nftmaker, one of the top tools discussed with various leaders around the chain. This tool could be repurposed later to any layer 2 nft protocol in the HIVE family of development ecosystems.
Increasing our "Rep" around HIVE
We continue to work around HIVE, and also look for clients outside of the ecosystem. Our development framework channeled through Open.Mithril is powerful and valuable. Keep an eye out for many new developments, new strategies and new synergies around the HIVE ecosystem - builders gonna build!
