My Top3 choices for the May contest - TV Box Sets
As I may have mentioned before, I tend to fall asleep when watching things, so the sign of a good Box Set for me, is one that I do not sleep to! The sleeping leads to the amount of time that it takes for me to finish a series. If it takes a long time, it is sleepworthy. That doesn’t mean that I don’t enjoy many series to fall asleep to, but the sign for me of a good series is the anticipation of the release and the ability to stay awake through one episode! As @cheese4ead and @monorosado have mentioned some of my favourites, I tried not to overlap, but I did have to with one, and nearly two of them. The one that I have left to @monorosado is Cobra Kai. The pure nostalgia of this series, with The Karate Kid being one of my all time favourite films as a teenager, has everything for me. I know that not that many people are aware of it, but I would highly recommend it, especially if you are a teenager from the 80’s.

Peaky Blinders
This was the box set that @cheese4ead didn’t want to bother with. I was quite insistent, nothing to do with the gorgeous Cillian Murphy, of course!
I absolutely love this show, but the main reason is Tom Hardy as Alfie Solomans. Yes, I am a huge Tom Hardy fan, but it is his characterisation of Alfie and the amazing writing to go along with his character that makes me love it so much. Even if you don’t watch an episode, go to Youtube and type in Alfie Solomans, just to see his performances and one-liners.
This show is gritty, violent and keeps you on the edge of your seat. It is one of those shows that has not diminished in quality over the seasons. I cannot wait for the next one.

The Crown
One thing you may not know about me is that I am a keen royalist. I love the history of the monarchy of my country and have taken a keen interest all the way through my life, happily remembering the Silver Jubilee celebrations (which is where the current season ended). I loved both Claire Foy and Olivia Coleman as Queen Elizabeth II and I think that the production is amazing. I particularly enjoyed understanding the history from before my birth, so the first 3 seasons have enhanced my historical knowledge in an enjoyable way. Now, talking of sleeping through a series - this is the one that I binge watch all to myself as soon as it is released, and manage to watch a season within a week!

Game of Thrones
As @cheese4ead has said, we were early adopters of the show, watching it in 2011, when it was first released. We were in Bahrain then and my friend Marianna recommended it. We would have dinner together every Saturday night, and she would discuss how she hoped those baby dragons would swoop down and grab Joffrey, whilst we were watching the second season. I will always remember our time together fondly, some excellent memories. That show has followed us around the world! It only finished last year and some viewers were disappointed with the ending, but I thought the whole thing was absolutely epic. It is the series that put Box Sets on the map. I loved it and miss it. I hope that they build the visitors centre in Northern Ireland, giving me a reason to visit in the future.
Thanks for reading.
