This months topic is Favourite Lead Singers
The One's That Came Close
Anthony Keidis

In the last few months, I decided to get into the Red Hot Chilli Peppers. Of course, I already knew some of their biggest hits, but I have loved learning more about them and their tracks! Watching some of their live performances with @Cheese4ead, I love the amount of energy and passion Keidis puts into all of his songs, he makes me want to get up and start blasting the lyrics out too! I think he has a great voice and I definitely look forward to listening to more of their work!
Skin

Skin is the lead singer of the British rock band Skunk Anansie. I first heard of Skin in one of my all time favourite songs Renaissance composed by Paolo Buonvino
.....except, I didn't really know it was her... until around March this year. My parents and I sat down to watch (Spoiler alert) the Masked Singer UK and someone disguised as a duck came on stage. My dad and I were discussing who we thought it could be. @Cheese4ead mentioned the lead singer of Skunk Anansie so we listened to some of their songs and we thought that Skin was a decent guess. I told my dad about this song I knew (Renaissance) and the duck sounded just like the singer from that! Eventually, after some research, we found out we were talking about the same person and guess what! It was Skin in the duck costume! @Cheese4ead and I were pretty chuffed when it was revealed haha. Anyways, despite not being one of my choices for this topic, I really enjoy listening to her. Skin's voice is incredibly unique and I love it! She can even sing operatic! I have loved learning more about her and Skunk Anansie, their tracks are fire! If you get the chance you should 100% check them out.
Tom Chaplin

I had always grown up listening to Keane, particularly their album Hopes and Fears. No matter where we would go, on a 20hr road trip, if I was being picked up from school... I guarantee you, Hopes and Fears would be playing. This album has had such a big impact on me, I love it so much. When I have been down, this album has helped motivate me to feel better, Bedshaped in particular. This song is a very important song to me and therefore Keane will always hold a very special place in my heart. Tom Chaplin has an incredible voice, I love it a lot! Keane also produced the song featured in the movie A Monster Calls. If you guys have read my first ever entry into Your Top 3, then you will know how much I love this film, and the amount of tears I cry each time I watch it ahaha. I was meant to be seeing them live this summer at a festival, but unfortunately, due to COVID-19 it has been postponed to next year.
My Top 3
Conor Mason

Conor Mason is the lead singer of the band Nothing But Thieves. This is a band that I have only recently (in the last few years) gotten into. I was meant to be seeing them live with some friends this summer at the same festival as Keane!
I absolutely love their music but Conor's voice was one of the things that caught my attention the most. It is extremely unique and he is very talented. Even live (you can see down below), he puts on a great show!
Dan Smith

On Christmas day 2014, my grandparents got me tickets to see my ultimate favourite band at the time, Bastille. I was absolutely obsessed with them! When I say obsessed, I mean Dan Smith (the lead vocalist) on the back of my phone case, t-shirts, an album that was played non-stop, the background to my iPad..... yes, an 11 year old total fan girl. My dad took me to go and see them live. Wow... What an experience. Bad Blood (their original album) was and still is, my all time favourite album. If you haven't heard any of their original songs, you should definitely check them out. Dan Smith, whilst having a reputation of being overly posh when he sings, has a beautiful voice and was so full of energy on stage it was brilliant. @Cheese4ead bought me a T-shirt at the end of the concert which I still have now. Despite being ripped to shreds, it is still one of my favourite items of clothing.
Amy Lee

For the longest amount of time, I have been the biggest Evanescence fan!! From the age of 5, I've always loved jamming along to one of my all time favourite albums, Fallen. My dad had the album, so I had grown up listening to it all the time, bearing in mind I was born in 2003 and the album was released that same year!!
I am a singer and Amy has always been a huge inspiration to me. I'm constantly baffled by her voice, the power and range that she has is incredible, how can someone's voice be so impeccable???? I'm am absolutely gutted that I missed an opportunity to see Evanescence live back in 2016. I would do anything to be able to attend one of their concerts now! Hopefully we get the chance again!
