Greetings, my dear friends from @lifestyle and @liketu. I hope you are well, in good health and well-being and that these are days of much profit and success for all of you.
Today marks two years of having materialized a decision that was not easy to make, but that was thought, conscientiously, for all that it implied at the time. Emigrating to Colombia, specifically to Bogota, has been one of the most important decisions of my life. I remember the day I left my house as if it were yesterday. I was full of nerves and a lot of emotion at the same time because I would be reunited with my daughter, after almost a year without seeing each other, without hugging.
I said goodbye to my homeland, as I was on my way to the airport of my city to board a plane, without a return ticket as in other trips, and with some suitcases in which I tried to put a whole life.

Hoy, se cumplen dos años de haber materializado una decisión que no fue fácil tomar, pero que fue pensada, concienzudamente, por todo lo que implicaba en su momento. Emigrar a Colombia, específicamente a Bogotá, ha sido una de las decisiones más importantes de mi vida. Recuerdo el día que salí de mi casa como si fuera ayer. Estaba llena de nervios y mucha emoción al mismo tiempo porque me reencontraría con mi hija, luego de casi un año sin vernos, sin abrazarnos.
Me despedí de mi tierra natal, mientras iba camino al aeropuerto de mi ciudad para embarcarme en un avión, sin pasaje de retorno como en otros viajes, y con algunas maletas en la que intenté meter una vida completa.

At first, it was a challenge to adapt to the city and learn to move around its streets and avenues. However, the illusion of getting to know new places prevailed, and so, I began to walk the city for hours, without any fatigue, making the necessary purchases to settle in our new home.
The first year was marked by a mixture of the most dissimilar feelings and emotions: joy, sadness, illusion, nostalgia. I had unexpected and painful losses.... Little by little, as the months went by, I began to feel less like a newcomer and I felt part of this great city.
This second year brought more stability in every way. We opened our family business and worked hard and with dedication. In my life and in my heart there is serenity, peace, new illusions and I maintain the joy of living with humility, enjoying the beauty of the simple. My new home is a refuge of love, warmth and harmony, to which I have put my personal seal so as not to feel alien and I take care of it as if it were my own.
Al principio, fue todo un reto adaptarme a la ciudad y aprender a moverme por sus calles y avenidas. Sin embargo, prevalecía la ilusión de conocer nuevos lugares, y así, empecé a caminar la ciudad por horas, sin cansancio alguno, haciendo las compras necesarias para establecernos en nuestro nuevo hogar.
El primer año estuvo marcado por una mezcla de los más disímiles sentimientos y emociones: alegría, tristeza, ilusión, nostalgia. Tuve pérdidas inesperadas, dolorosas... Poco a poco, con el pasar de los meses, comencé a sentirme menos como una recién llegada y me sentí parte de esta gran ciudad.
Este segundo año trajo consigo más estabilidad en todo sentido. Abrimos nuestro negocio familiar y trabajamos con empeño y dedicación. En mi vida y en mi corazón hay serenidad, paz, nuevas ilusiones y mantengo la alegría de vivir con humildad, disfrutando de la belleza de lo simple. Mi nuevo hogar es un refugio de amor, calidez y armonía, al que le he puesto mi sello personal para no sentirme ajena y lo cuido como si fuera mío.
Bogota has received me with great hospitality. Here, I have met wonderful people with whom I have formed a beautiful bond of friendship. I have good, generous people around me who have made me feel at home.
Bogotá me ha recibido con mucha hospitalidad. Aquí, he conocido gente maravillosa con la que formado un bonito vínculo de amistad. Tengo a mi alrededor gente buena, generosa que me ha hecho sentir como en casa.
In these two years I have also celebrated traditional festivities, tasted the exquisite Colombian cuisine and learned to understand the way of life in this country. What may have seemed strange to me at first, is now part of my daily life.
Today, I look back and realize how much I have grown, how much it has strengthened me as a human being to have left what I knew as my comfort zone. Emigrating not only taught me to be more resilient for all that I have experienced in these two years, but it also opened my mind and heart to new perspectives. There are still moments when I miss my country, my family, my friends, but now I know that I will always carry all that is mine in my heart and mind wherever I go, and that gives me strength to keep going.
After two years, I feel very fortunate to have had the opportunity to live this experience, this new beginning. And although the road has not always been easy, I feel, deep in my heart, that every step has been worth it.
En estos dos años he celebrado, también, las fiestas tradicionales, he probado la exquisita gastronomía colombiana y he aprendido a entender los modos de vida de este país. Lo que al principio me podía parecer extraño, ahora es parte de mi vida diaria.
Hoy, miro hacia atrás y me doy cuenta de cuánto he crecido, de cuánto me ha fortalecido como ser humano el haber salido de lo que conocía como mi zona de confort. Emigrar no solo me enseñó a ser más resiliente por todo lo que he vivido en estos dos años, sino que también me abrió la mente y el corazón a nuevas perspectivas. Todavía hay momentos en los que extraño mi país, mi familia, mis amigos, pero ahora sé que siempre llevaré todo eso que es mío en el corazón y en mi mente a donde quiera que vaya, y eso me da fuerzas para seguir adelante.
Después de dos años, me siento muy afortunada de haber tenido la oportunidad de vivir esta experiencia, este nuevo comienzo. Y aunque el camino no ha sido siempre fácil, siento, en lo más profundo de mi corazón, que cada paso ha valido la pena.
