This pattern comes from another video. The idea was to practice petal shapes that fit inside the spaces that are created from crossing the lines. At first, you can see that the petals are way too thin and too many. Then as the idea sinks on my mind and flows through the pen, the petals start to take a wider shape and are reduced in number to fot their space better.
Then comes the dance of filling the rest of the space with black ink until the design is complete. The colors selection for this Zentangle came also from the video. I like the idea of using hues of green for patterns that have some kind of natural shape. I think that fits the whole idea more than other colors. Besides, they are light enough to avoid covering the pattern too much.
While making this design, I was thinking about how much patience is required to finish such a thing. You have to commit to the idea and also spend your time filling up each part with color, lines or ink. Then while you're doing that job, you have to make sure to stay between the lines and also make sure the pattern in created in such a way that it has harmony.
It is surprising how such a simple thing needs so much thought.
