Hello friends, I hope you are very well today, today I come to tell you about a business that emerged in 2020, it is about my sale of posters and banners, today I am going to tell you how this came about and some of my experiences and learnings.
Previously I have already told you in my blog that I work with these commissions and I have also shown you some of my work, but today I want to tell you a little more about how this started.
Hola amigos, espero que hoy estén muy bien, hoy vengo a contarles sobre un negocio que surgió en el año 2020, se trata de mi venta de carteles y pancartas, hoy les voy a contar como surgió esto y algunas de mis experiencias y aprendizajes.
Anteriormente yo ya les he hablado en mi blog de que trabajo con estos encargos y también les he mostrado algunos de mis trabajos, pero hoy quiero contarles un poquito más de como empezó esto.
I have always liked to give drawings to my loved ones, to my friends and also to my relatives and every time a birthday was approaching I would make a poster with a lot of love. At the beginning I would get together with my friends and as a group we would make the banners for the birthday boy and if it was for my family we would wait for the family member to leave the house and we would take out all the materials and as a family we would make the banner to have it on the day of his birthday.
When the quarantine started, it was difficult to hide from the family members when we made a banner, since we were always inside the house, what we did was to be honest and tell them not to leave the room, and the surprise would not be that they would have a birthday banner, the surprise would be what the banner would look like. That's how we did it and it was a lot of fun, and we enjoyed the process of creating it as a family.
A mi siempre me ha gustado regalarle dibujos a seres queridos, a mis amigos y también a mis familiares y cada vez que se acercaba un cumpleaños yo estaba pendiente de hacerle su cartel con mucho amor. Al principio me reunía con mis amigos y hacíamos en grupo las pancartas para el cumpleañero y si era para mi familia esperábamos a que el familiar se fuera de la casa y sacábamos todos los materiales y en familia hacíamos la pancarta para tenerla el día de su cumpleaños.
Cuando empezó la cuarentena se hacía difícil ocultarle a los miembros de la familia cuando hacíamos una pancarta, ya que siempre estábamos todos dentro de la casa, lo que hacíamos era ser honestos y decirles que no salieran del cuarto, y la sorpresa no sería que tendrían una pancarta de cumpleaños, la sorpresa sería como sería esa pancarta. Así hacíamos y era bien divertido, y además de que disfrutamos el proceso de creación en familia.
Then, my mom told me about the idea of taking the banners a little more seriously and that she would start promoting them to sell them and make orders. I got excited and said yes, and since I was in quarantine I had no other occupation, and I really thought it was a very good idea, and today I am grateful for it.
My mom started to promote me to her acquaintances and contacts in her social networks, she published some banners that she had already made and step by step we had already set up a business, which I also enjoyed very much since drawing has always been something that I have loved and that has made me happy.
Luego, mi mamá me comentó la idea de tomar las pancartas con un poco más de seriedad y que empezará a promocionarlas para venderlas y hacer pedidos. Yo me emocioné y le dije que si, y como estaba en cuarentena no tenía más ocupación, y de verdad que me pareció una muy buena idea, y hoy en día lo agradezco.
Mi mamá se puso las pilas, y empezó a promocionarme con sus conocidos y contactos de sus redes sociales, publicaba algunas pancartas que ya había hecho y paso a paso ya teníamos armado un negocio, que además disfrutaba demasiado ya que dibujar siempre ha sido algo que he amado y que me ha hecho feliz.
Sometimes as an immature person I feel ashamed of my first works, but then I remember everything I have learned, and all the process I have had to get to make the banners I do now, I remember the first banners and they make me feel tender, they make me think how I have evolved and advanced. In the first banners I worked only with wood colors, which made the work much more tedious and time consuming.
I remember very well the first banner I made to market, that is, my first paid order. It was a banner with a beach theme that a friend of my mom ordered us, I also remember very well what I did with the money, we bought some ice cream that a neighbor sold at that time, they were very good, those that are not fruity but marquesa, cookie, oreo, etc .... Unfortunately I didn't get a picture of the banner as such, but my mom that day in 2020 took a picture of me and my sister making the banner very happy.
A veces como persona inmadura me dan vergüenza mis primeros trabajos, pero luego recuerdo todo lo que he aprendido, y todo el proceso que he tenido para llegar a hacer las pancartas que ahora hago, recuerdo las primeras pancartas y me dan ternura, me hacen pensar como he evolucionado y avanzado. En las primeras pancartas trabajaba únicamente con colores de madera, lo cual hacía el trabajo mucho más tedioso y tardado.
Recuerdo muy bien la primera pancarta que hice para comercializar, es decir, mi primer encargo con pago. Fue una pancarta con temática playera que nos encargó una amiga de mi mamá, también recuerdo muy bien que hice con el dinero, compramos unos helados que ese entonces vendía una vecina, eran muy buenos, de esos que no son frutales si no de marquesa, galleta, oreo, etc... Lamentablemente no conseguí una foto de la pancarta como tal, pero mi mamá ese día en 2020 nos tomó una foto a mi y a mi hermana haciendo la pancarta muy felices.

After making several banners I was evolving and we were investing in materials to improve the quality of our orders and I was discovering materials, among those the paint.
When I started to work with paint the improvement could be seen a lot, and at the beginning I used it only for some details, for the border or for simple things, because I was afraid to experiment and that I would get things wrong, so I started to experiment with personal banners, with personal banners I mean those that are not commissions to work, those that are for my family or friends and so I was learning to use the paints.
Después de hacer varias pancartas fui evolucionando y así mismo fuimos invirtiendo en materiales para mejorar la calidad de nuestros encargos y fui descubriendo materiales, entre esos la pintura.
Cuando empecé a trabajar con pintura la mejoría se podía observar muchísimo, y al principio lo usaba solamente para algunos detalles, para el borde o para cosas simples, ya que me daba miedo experimentar y que me salieran las cosas mal, por eso empecé a experimentar con pancartas personales, con pancartas personales me refiero a las que no son encargos para trabajar, las que son para mi familia o amigos y así fui aprendiendo a usar las pinturas.
And as in everything, I have had seasons in which they order me banners every week and quite a few, and there are also seasons in which they almost do not order me banners, also by illusion they have left me without paying, but I learned from that and now I do not deliver orders without being paid before. And not only I have learned that, I have learned a lot during these two years that I have been working with banners, and my style of drawing has evolved a lot.
I love every time people tell me that they love my banners, they always write to my mom that I have a lot of talent and that they love every work I do. My friends also always praise my banners and it makes me very happy, every time I give them a banner they make me very happy with nice comments and that motivates me to keep improving and working with my banners.
Y como en todo, he tenido temporadas en las que me encargan pancartas todas las semanas y bastantes, y también hay temporadas en las que casi no me encargan pancartas, también por iluso me han dejado sin pagar, pero de eso aprendí y ahora no entrego pedidos sin que me paguen antes. Y no solo he aprendido eso, he aprendido mucho durante estos dos años que tengo trabajando con pancartas, y mi estilo de dibujo a evolucionado muchísimo.
Adoro cada vez que personas me dicen que aman mis pancartas, a mi mamá siempre le escriben que tengo mucho talento y que cada trabajo que hago les gusta mucho. Mis amigos también se encargan de elogiar siempre mis pancartas y me hace muy feliz, cada vez que les regalo una pancarta me hacen muy feliz con comentarios lindos y eso me motiva a seguir mejorando y trabajando con mis pancartas.
