Hey everyone! I’ve got some exciting news to share—after 6 years grinding as a software developer, I’ve finally saved up enough to start building my dream duplex house! It’s been a wild journey, and now the work is underway. Right now, we’ve just finished the foundation and the columns, which feels like a huge step forward. I can’t believe it’s actually happening!
Every day, I head over to the site to check on the progress. The sun’s usually setting by the time I get there, casting this warm glow over everything. The workers are super dedicated, moving around with bricks and sand, and I love watching it all come together. There’s this big pile of sand in the corner that I keep tripping over—guess I need to get used to the chaos of a construction site! In the background, you can see my old house, which has been my little home for years, and now it’s getting a fancy new neighbor.
I snapped some photos of the current progress to share with you all. It’s not much yet, but it’s my dream taking shape. Can’t wait to see the walls go up and start imagining where the furniture will go. What do you think—any tips for a first-time house builder like me? Drop your thoughts below, and let’s chat about this adventure!
