Hoy les contaré continuaré contando como se desarrolló nuestra clase súper improvisada de pintura en la playa. Ese día como les conté en el post anterior se fue la electricidad en todo el centro de la ciudad, esto es algo que no me había ocurrido nunca en los meses que llevo trabajando en el local.
Inclusive yo cuando comencé a dar clases pregunté a quienes tenían negocios y visitaban el centro a diario para saber cual era la situación que se vivía con respecto a la electricidad y me comentaron que se solía ir pero en horas de la noche, cosa que me tranquilizó muchísimo.
Esta era la segunda vez que me tocaba suspender clases por este tema, la primera vez fue por un cable que se había caído y afecto el centro comercial donde me encuentro actualmente y el que queda justo al lado.

Today, I will continue telling you about how our super improvised painting class on the beach unfolded. As I mentioned in my previous post, the power went out throughout the city center that day, which is something that had never happened to me in the months I had been working at the venue.
When I started teaching, I even asked people who had businesses and visited the city center every day about the electricity situation, and they told me that it usually went out at night, which reassured me greatly.
This was the second time I had to cancel classes because of this issue. The first time was due to a fallen cable that affected the shopping center where I am currently located and the one right next door.
Como la alumna que faltaba definitivamente no terminaba de llegar decidimos las tres que estábamos caminar un poco para ver si encontrábamos otro sitio agradable en el que pudiéramos estar.
Encontramos una zona justo debajo de un árbol con mucha sombra y ahí nos sentamos. Yo me había llevado un trozo de cartón porque no teníamos nada para colocar. Las chicas en cambio se sentaron sobre la hierba y al llegar la otra alumna con su mantel se apoyaron en él.
Since the student who was supposed to join us never showed up, the three of us decided to walk around a bit to see if we could find another nice place to hang out.
We found a spot right under a tree with plenty of shade and sat down there. I had brought a piece of cardboard because we didn't have anything to sit on. The girls, on the other hand, sat on the grass, and when the other student arrived with her tablecloth, they leaned on it.
Ese día comenzamos a trabajar con las obras que se expondrían en la galería de arte que hice hace un par de meses en el local. El motivo era arte retro y yo me incliné por algo psicodélico, que por cierto esa obra se las compartí hace un tiempo acá en mi blog.
El papá de mi alumna nos acompañó durante todo ese tiempo, bien chistoso el señor porque estuvo caminando en zonas cercanas y otra parte del tiempo estuvo sentado con una silla de plástico que había llevado.
That day, we began working on the works that would be exhibited in the art gallery I built a couple of months ago at the store. The theme was retro art, and I was leaning toward something psychedelic. By the way, I shared that work with you a while back here on my blog.
My student's father accompanied us the entire time. The gentleman was quite funny because he walked in nearby areas and sat part of the time on a plastic chair he had brought.
En un punto le pedimos al señor que se acercara para que nos tomara una foto juntas y bueno también me tomaron unas fotos mientras pintaba.
Yo no hice mucho, solo el boceto y apenas agregué un poco de color, pues había comido mucho de Doritos que había comprado una alumna y jugo de naranja y me había caído pésimo en el estómago.
Estaba súper desenfocada y decidí pausar. Una vez más no pude pintar bien, al parecer es que debo hacerlo completamente sola, no en compañía pues me distraigo mucho y el tema de documentar influye mucho.
At one point, we asked the man to come closer so he could take a picture of us together, and they also took some pictures of me while I was painting.
I didn't do much, just the sketch and barely added a little color, because I had eaten a lot of Doritos a student had bought and orange juice, and it had hit me badly.
I was completely out of focus and decided to pause. Once again, I couldn't paint well. Apparently, I should do it completely alone, not with others, because I get distracted a lot, and the documentation aspect is very important.
A pesar de ese malestar fue una tarde súper agradable en la que logramos adelantar bastante, sobre todo mis alumnas lograron darle forma a sus obras. Luego de terminar el señor nos acercó hasta el local ya que me tocaba dejar las pinturas y cerrar todo. Para ese momento ya la electricidad había llegado, pero que si media hora antes de que termináramos. Fue buena idea suspender la clase.
Así terminó el día, una clase diferente y fuera de la zona de confort, lo que nos da nuevas experiencias y momentos para recordar.
Despite that discomfort, it was a super enjoyable afternoon in which we made a lot of progress, especially in helping my students shape their works. After finishing, the teacher drove us to the space since it was my turn to drop off the paints and close everything up. By then, the power had been restored, but it was half an hour before we were done. It was a good idea to cancel the class.
Thus ended the day, a different class, outside our comfort zones, giving us new experiences and moments to remember.
