I was in the spaces of La Flor de Venezuela in the city of Barquisimeto, yesterday an event called Artcom was taking place, and today the activities continue for the attending public.
Estuve en los espacios de La Flor de Venezuela en la ciudad de Barquisimeto, ayer se estaba realizando un evento llamado Artcom, y hoy continúan las actividades para el público asistente.
The ArtCom is an event produced by the young Frank Castillo, they have defined it as an Artistic Festival. Among the different activities there were art workshops, modeling, cosplay. The latter has much relevance in the whole event, since several cosplay personalities of the country, were present. In addition, film screenings and fashion shows were scheduled.
The event was initially scheduled for December 1, but due to a referendum vote in the country, it had to be postponed to December 7 and 8. They were not the only ones. Many events scheduled for that first week of December had to do the same, rescheduled for other dates.
I did not have much time, I had other commitments and I quickly started to review the expo of companies and entrepreneurs who participated in ArtCom, promoting their services, selling their products and consolidating their brand. I could not talk to the organizer, I saw him quite busy coordinating everything, it was the first day of the event and I did not want to bother him. He was probably focused on making sure that everything went well and on solving last minute problems that always occur in this type of activities.
El ArtCom es un evento producido por el joven Frank Castillo, ellos lo han definido como un Festival Artístico. Entre las diferentes actividades hubo talleres de arte, modelaje, cosplay. Este último tiene mucha relevancia en el conjunto del evento, ya que diversas personalidades de cosplay del país, estuvieron presentes. Además, se han programado proyecciones de películas y desfiles de moda.
El evento estaba previsto inicialmente para el 1 de diciembre, pero debido a la votación de un referéndum en el país, tuvo que posponerse al 7 y 8 de diciembre. No fueron los únicos. Muchos eventos programados para esa primera semana de diciembre tuvieron que hacer lo mismo, reprogramarse para otras fechas.
No disponía de mucho tiempo, tenía otros compromisos y rápidamente me puse a revisar la expo de empresas y emprendedores que participaron en el ArtCom, promocionando sus servicios, vendiendo sus productos y consolidando su marca. No pude hablar con el organizador, lo vi bastante ocupado coordinando todo, era el primer día del evento y no quise molestarlo. Seguramente estaba concentrado en que todo saliera bien y en solucionar los inconvenientes de última hora que siempre ocurren en este tipo de actividades.

The second level of La Flor de Venezuela was for entrepreneurs, allied business owners and sponsors to have their booth. The famous store of cell phones, spare parts and accessories for cell phones, set up a space for gamers, where they could enjoy video games. I arrived very early, I did not notice many people, but when I had to leave, many people were arriving at the facilities of La Flor.
I was happy to see many small entrepreneurs with their stands and products, making themselves known. From clothing merchants like Mr Loco, honey producers from Cabudare, neighboring city of Barquisimeto, to food and beverage businesses, like the delicious Chicha Condensada, brownies and Aby Cakes. I found the prices affordable for all the public. Three mini donuts for a dollar. Coffee for 40 cents, two cups of tizana for a dollar. I was provoked by several sweet treats, but I can't consume any of that. I just committed the abuse of trying the tizana.
El segundo nivel de La Flor de Venezuela fue para que empresarios, dueños de negocios aliados y patrocinadores tuvieran su stand. La famosa tienda de celulares, repuestos y accesorios para celulares, montó un espacio para los gamers, donde pudieron disfrutar de videojuegos. Llegué muy temprano, no noté mucha gente, pero cuando me tuve que ir, mucha gente estaba llegando a las instalaciones de La Flor.
Me dio gusto ver a muchos pequeños empresarios con sus stands y productos, dándose a conocer. Desde comerciantes de ropa como Mr Loco, productores de miel de Cabudare, ciudad vecina de Barquisimeto hasta negocios de alimentos y bebidas, como la deliciosa Chicha Condensada, brownies y pastelitos Aby Cakes. Los precios me parecieron asequibles para todo el público. Tres mini donas por un dólar. Café por 40 céntimos, dos tacitas de tizana por un dólar. Me provocaron varios dulces, pero no puedo consumir nada de eso. Sólo cometí el abuso de probar la tizana.

All the merchants at the exhibition had the mobile payment system, which is very popular in the country, as a means of payment. They kept their booth tidy, with mobile payment details clearly visible. QR codes for people to follow them on social media. One of the booths had a big sign where they informed that they accepted Dollar through Binance as a payment method. I thought this was great and I hope more entrepreneurs realize that accepting cryptocurrencies will benefit them.
Clothing, bracelets, necklaces, souvenirs, cosplay items, K-dramas, pkemon cards, Harry Potter items, there was a great variety. Very much in keeping with the audience of the event. There was even a booth with watches at $4 and $3. I find those prices excellent, sure, they are not prestigious brand watches, but their function is to tell the time and have it as an ornament on your wrist. Call me cheap, but I do not give 150, 200 or 400 dollars for a watch. No sir, that is an unnecessary waste. In the 21st century, where cell phones have watches, I'd rather buy a $4 watch.
Todos los comercios de la exposición tenían como medio de pago el sistema de pago por móvil, muy popular en el país. Mantenían su stand ordenado, con los datos para el pago por móvil bien visibles. Códigos QR para que la gente les siguiera en las redes sociales. Uno de los stands tenía un gran cartel donde informaban que aceptaban Dólar a través de Binance como método de pago. Esto me pareció genial y espero que más empresarios se den cuenta de que aceptar criptodivisas les beneficiará.
Ropa, pulseras, collares, souvenirs, artículos de cosplay, dramas K, tarjetas de pkemon, artículos de Harry Potter, había una gran variedad. Muy acorde con el público del evento. Incluso había un stand con relojes a 4 y 3 dólares. Me parecen excelentes esos precios, claro, no son relojes de marcas prestigiosas, pero su función es dar la hora y tenerlo de adorno en la muñeca. Llámenme tacaño, pero yo no doy 150, 200 o 400 dólares por un reloj. No señor, eso es un derroche innecesario. En pleno siglo XXI donde los celulares tienen reloj, prefiero comprar uno de 4 dólares.

There were also large companies, such as bancamaiga, which participate in all the events held, maintaining a presence, so that they remember their brand, offering bank account opening services. Fast Payment had its space, promoting its points of sale with financing plans. 80$ initial + 3 monthly installments of 67$ and with a fixed monthly service fee of 39$. If you want to buy it cash, the equipment costs $230.
I was able to take some photos of young people showing off their cosplay. I even saw some who were finishing it right there. I regret not having much time to talk to them, although I also saw them a bit busy because that first day of the event they would be evaluating their cosplays, by a jury specialist in the subject.
También hubo grandes empresas, como bancamaiga, que participan en todos los eventos que se celebran, manteniendo una presencia, para que recuerden su marca, ofreciendo los servicios de apertura de cuentas bancarias. Fast Payment tuvo su espacio, promocionando sus puntos de venta con planes de financiación. 80$ iniciales + 3 cuotas mensuales de 67$ y con una cuota de servicio fija mensual de 39$. Si quieres comprarlo al contado, el equipo cuesta 230$.
Pude tomar algunas fotos de jóvenes mostrando su cosplay. Incluso vi a algunos que lo estaban terminando allí mismo. Lamento no tener mucho tiempo para hablar con ellos, aunque también los vi un poco ocupados y es que ese primer día del evento estarían evaluando sus cosplays, por un jurado especialista en el tema.
A small stage was set up outside La Flor, where the young people paraded in front of the audience and announced the three winners. The first prize was $50 in cash. Maybe for someone from a first world country it is not a very attractive prize, but for someone from this country, it is well worth the effort to try to win it. Second I don't remember what the prize was and third would receive a wig. The lucky winner of the 50 was the young man who played The Grinch, I say played because he was completely into his character in everything he did and the interactions even with his family. I think that helped him get the top spot.
After picking the Cosplay winners, it got late and I had to leave. Unfortunately, I couldn't stay to watch the fashion show organized by ken Models modeling agency. I will have to ask my friends who did stay to see how the first day of the fashion show went. I will do my best to go today.
I love these types of events. All support to the entrepreneurs who trust and believe in their projects. Also to the organizers of this kind of events. It is not an easy job. If you are in the city of Barquisimeto or you are from there and you don't know what to do, go to the Flor de Venezuela.
Se montó un pequeño escenario fuera de La Flor, donde los jóvenes desfilaron ante el público y anunciaron los tres ganadores. El primer premio consistía en 50 dólares en metálico. Quizá para alguien de un país del primer mundo no sea un premio muy atractivo, pero para alguien de este país, bien vale la pena el esfuerzo de intentar ganarlo. El segundo no recuerdo cuál era el premio y el tercero recibiría una peluca. El afortunado ganador de los 50 fue el joven que interpretaba a El Grinch, digo interpretaba porque estaba completamente metido en su personaje en todo lo que hacía y las interacciones incluso con su familia. Creo que eso le ayudó a conseguir el primer puesto.
Después de elegir a los ganadores de Cosplay, se hizo tarde y tuve que marcharme. Por desgracia, no pude quedarme a ver el desfile de moda organizado por la agencia de modelos ken Models. Tendré que preguntar a mis amigos que sí se quedaron para ver cómo fue el primer día del desfile. Haré todo lo posible por ir hoy.
Me encantan este tipo de eventos. Todo el apoyo a los emprendedores que confían y creen en sus proyectos. También a los organizadores de este tipo de eventos. No es un trabajo fácil. Si estás en la ciudad de Barquisimeto o eres de allí y no sabes qué hacer, ve a la Flor de Venezuela.
