En fin hoy vengo a contarles, un mini storytime de cómo montamos el arbolito navideño en mi casa y como siempre les traigo muuucho contexto y #chisme 😂

Well, the first thing I want to tell you is something that the more grown ups will confirm... The importance of investing in Christmas decorations one year at a time.
You see last year (before I joined Hive) my husband and I finally made the decision to buy our little Christmas tree 😍.
Around these parts it is normal to buy synthetic trees, a practice that I firmly believe should be followed everywhere in the world, because plants are also living and sentient beings. You tell me if the poor pines like to be cut down and then put lights and ornaments on them.
Bueno, lo primero que quiero contarles es algo que los más adultos confirmarán… La importancia de invertir en los adornos navideños un año a la vez.
Verán el año pasado (antes de entrar a Hive) mi esposo y yo finalmente tomamos la decisión de comprar nuestro arbolito de navidad 😍
Por estos lares lo normal es comprar árboles sintéticos, una práctica que creo firmemente, deberían seguir en todas partes del mundo, pues las plantas también son seres vivos y sintientes. Ya me dirán si a los pobres pinos les gusta que los talen y luego les pongan luces y adornos.
As you all know, here in our beautiful Venezuela everything goes up in price with each passing day, so it was important for us to buy a tree that we would be happy with. My wish was to buy a white tree 😍 but we didn't have the budget 😔.
And not only that. When we finally had the day off to go out to buy the tree and the ornaments... they had taken the cheap tree and we had to pay for it more expensive 🙄
Cómo todos saben, aquí en nuestra bella Venezuela todo sube de precio cada día que va pasando, por eso era importante para nosotros comprar un árbol con el que estuviésemos contentos. Mi deseo era comprar un árbol blanco 😍 peeeero no nos daba el presupuesto 😔
Y no solo eso. Cuando por fin tuvimos el día libre para salir a comprar el árbol y los adornos… se habían llevado el árbol barato y tuvimos que pagarlo más caro 🙄

But this is important. Even though we paid more than we had stipulated, with inflation from one year to the next it ended up coming out cheaper, even the ornaments.
This year my intention was to buy Christmas mugs and some extra ornaments for the house, but the way the dollar is going, I better not 🙄.
Anyway. I am one of those old-fashioned people who assembles their tree on December 1, but it turned out that on November 28 my husband decided to stay home because of a lung discomfort and a persistent cough. It turned out to be bronchitis... and 5 days ago we were told it was COVID 😵💫 But that is another story....
What is certain is that we took advantage of the afternoon to set up our little tree 😍
Pero esto es importante. Aunque pagamos más de lo que teníamos estipulado, con la inflación de un año al otro terminó saliendonos más barato, incluso los adornos.
Este año mi intención era comprar tazas navideñas y algún adornito extra para la casa, peeeero, cómo va el dólar mejor que no 🙄
En fin. Yo soy de esas personas chapadas a las antigua que monta su arbolito el 1 de Diciembre, pero resultó ser que el día 28 de noviembre mi esposo decidió quedarse en casa por una molestia en el pulmón y una tos persistente. Resultó ser bronquitis… y hace 5 días nos dijeron que era COVID 😵💫 Pero eso es otra historia..
Lo cierto es que aprovechamos la tarde para montar nuestro arbolito 😍

We started with the most important thing, putting up the music, and since it's December and I'm maracucha at heart it couldn't be any other way than playing bagpipes 🎉💖
A few years ago, I worked in a call center and our instructor was Mexican. I laughed a lot when we told him that in Venezuela we danced Christmas carols 😂😂 I swear his reaction was not normal 😂😂😂

Empezamos por lo más importante, colocar la música, y como es diciembre y yo soy maracucha de corazón no podía ser de otra forma que poner gaitas 🎉💖
Hace algunos años, yo trabajaba en un call center y nuestro instructor era Mexicano. Me dio mucha risa cuando le comentamos que en Venezuela nosotros bailábamos los villancicos 😂😂 se los juro que su reacción no fue nada normal 😂😂😂

And well, the next thing was to prepare the space... I have already told you in several posts, but here it goes again... I live in a matchbox (very coquettish by the way) so I have to be imaginative with the use of space.
Y bueno, lo siguiente fue acondicionar el espacio… Ya se los he comentado en varios post, pero aquí les va de nuevo… Yo vivo en una cajita de fósforos (Muy coqueta por cierto) por lo que me toca ser imaginativa con el uso del espacio.

In that little corner, between the TV cabinet and Púa's designated bathroom, was the space chosen to place it. Thank God, Púa is a very well-behaved dog and is always looking to be alone in her newspaper.
En esa esquinita, entre el mueble de la tele y el baño designado de Púa, fue el espacio escogido para colocarlo. Gracias a Dios, Púa es una perrita muy educada y siempre busca hacer solo en su periódico.

We had to be very careful with our figures, so we had to slowly move the furniture as close as we could because right next to it is the door of the house.
Teníamos que tener mucho cuidado con nuestras figuras, así que nos tocó arrimar poco a poco el mueble lo más que pudiésemos porque justo al lado está la puerta de la casa.

Here my husband is thinking about how to arrange the mess of cables that always forms behind the TV. WIFI, TV and Playstation cables always make a mess. Thank goodness with this modern age there is no need for a stereo 😂
Aquí mi esposo está pensando en cómo acomodar el desastre de cables que siempre se forma detrás de la tele. Los cables del WIFI, de la tele y el Playstation siempre se hacen un enredo. Gracias a Dios que con esta época moderna no es necesario un equipo de sonido 😂

While he was in charge of untangling cables, I was in charge of taking out the tree and the ornaments, which are not many actually, but they are very spooky 😍
That Christmas star, it cost me $5 last year and you'll see how pretty it lights up. My husband, he let me choose what color we were going to put all the ornaments and since I'm girly when I want I chose that fancy fuchsia ❤️
The new thing I did buy this year was the tree stand (or the rug that you put on it to cover the base of the tree) I owe you that post from the Total World store outing, but I promise it will be my next post 🙏🏻
Mientras el se encargaba de desenredar cables, yo me encargue de sacar el árbol y los adornos, que no son muchos en realidad, pero son muuuy cuchis 😍
Esa estrella de navidad, me costó 5$ el año pasado y ya verán lo lindo que alumbra. Mi esposo, me dejó escoger de qué color íbamos a colocar todos los adornos y pues como yo soy femenina cuando quiero elegí ese fucsia elegante ❤️
Lo nuevo que sí compré este año fue el pie de árbol (o la alfombra que se le coloca para tapar la base del árbol) Les debo ese post de la salida a la tienda Mundo Total, pero prometo que será mi próximo post 🙏🏻

We continued with the other part of the process: putting the tree together. This part took us a while, because you know that dust accumulates over the months and for allergic people (like me) it's better to vacuum everything.
Thank God my husband is insistent and this year we made the investment to buy a vacuum cleaner. While it is very noisy and we must be careful when cleaning not to suck up liquid, the easiest solution I found is to put on my headphones and play podcasts while I clean 🎙️
But well, there as you can see Pua was vigilant to the movement 🐺
Seguimos con la otra parte del proceso: Armar el arbolito. En esta parte nos tardamos un rato, pues ya saben que el polvo se acumula con el paso de los meses y para las personas alérgicas (como yo) es mejor aspirar todo.
Gracias a Dios que mi esposo es insistente y este año hicimos la inversión de comprar una aspiradora. Si bien es muy ruidosa y debemos tener cuidado cuando limpiamos de no aspirar líquido, la solución fácil que encontré es colocarme mis audífonos y poner podcast mientras limpio 🎙️
Pero bueno, allí como pueden ver Púa estaba vigilante ante el movimiento 🐺

Finally the last step was to untangle and test the lights. This step is important because who hasn't had it happen to you when you are confident that the lights are working and suddenly you realize that they don't turn on. You go to buy others and when you arrive you realize that the lights were not bad you just needed to accommodate a bulb 🙄
Finalmente el último paso fue desenredar y probar las luces. Este paso es importante porque a quien no le ha pasado que llegando diciembre estás confiado en que las luces funcionan y de repente te das cuenta que no prenden. Vas compras otras y cuando llegas te das cuenta que las luces no estaban malas solo necesitabas acomodarle un foco 🙄

Then came my turn to put all the decorations while my husband watched the game (and I listened to him 😂) in this part I consider that you need a lot of decorative eye when you don't have many decorations. In this case, the ideal is to place them all in the "front" part to make it look pretty. Here is the result.
Luego llegó mi turno de poner todos los adornos mientras mi esposo veía el juego (y yo lo escuchaba 😂) en esta parte considero que se necesita mucho ojo decorativos cuando no tienes muchos adornos. En este caso, lo ideal es colocarlos todos en la parte "delantera" para que se vea bonito. Aquí les dejo el resultado.
