Hoy les comparto momentos vividos, muy felices, el encendido del árbol de Navidad y compartir por el abrazo en familia, todo la misma tarde, aprovechando que es domingo y es día de descanso.

Culminada la decoración del árbol, que me encantó como quedó, decidí con mi esposo darle el encendido a las luces el domingo diez de noviembre, que en este año se celebra el abrazo en familia, junto a mi hijo José Gregorio, su esposa Andrea, mi hermana Rosa y, mis sobrinas Rosana y Luisana.
Once the decoration of the tree was finished, which I loved the way it turned out, I decided with my husband to turn on the lights on Sunday, November 10th, which this year we celebrate the family hug, together with my son José Gregorio, his wife Andrea, my sister Rosa and my nieces Rosana and Luisana.
La tarde transcurrió entre risas, abrazos y compartir experiencias y realidades alusivas a la Navidad. La época de infancia que tuvimos fue muy dura tanto para nosotros hijos como para nuestros padres por las carencias económicas que vivíamos en esa época. Sin embargo, a nuestros hijos, hemos hecho lo posible por darles lo mejor que hemos podido.
The afternoon was filled with laughter, hugs and sharing experiences and realities related to Christmas. The childhood we had was very hard for both our children and our parents because of the economic shortages we experienced at that time. However, to our children, we have done our best to give them the best we could.
Gracias a Dios que tuvimos la entereza, valentía y resiliencia para surfear las olas, como digo yo, y no dejarnos arropar y controlar por la situación vivida.
Thank God we had the fortitude, courage and resilience to surf the waves, as I say, and not let ourselves be overwhelmed and controlled by the situation.
Desde que me case, hace treinta y siete años atrás, la Navidad es una época superespecial para mí, siempre procuro colocar mi árbol navideño y decorar el resto de la casa para disfrutar la época.
Since I got married thirty seven years ago, Christmas is a very special time for me, I always try to put up my Christmas tree and decorate the rest of the house to enjoy the season.
Me encanta tomarme una copa de vino observando mi árbol, eso me llena y me complace, siento que los momentos duros se han superado, gracias a Dios y nuestro señor Jesucristo.
I love to have a glass of wine while looking at my tree, it fills me up and pleases me, I feel that the hard times have been overcome, thanks to God and our Lord Jesus Christ.
A mi segundo hijo, mi bebé José Vidal, como lo llamo por cariño, le envío las fotos de casa y realizamos videos para que disfrute también el momento.
To my second son, my baby José Vidal, as I call him by affection, I send him the photos from home and we make videos for him to enjoy the moment as well.
Nosotros, como muchas familias venezolanas, no escapamos al dolor de la diáspora con mi hijo menor, José Vidal, siete años que salió de casa, cumplidos en septiembre, en busca de una mejor vida, es muy duro el vacío del inmigrante y de los que quedamos en esta tierra llamada Venezuela. Sin embargo, hacemos lo posible, por incluirlo en cualquier actividad que realizamos y en especial esta que es la navideña.
We, like many Venezuelan families, do not escape the pain of the diaspora with my youngest son, José Vidal, seven years old, who left home in September, in search of a better life, it is very hard the emptiness of the immigrant and those of us who remain in this land called Venezuela. However, we do our best to include him in any activity we do, especially this Christmas one.
Aprovechamos que este día se celebra en nuestro país, el abrazo en familia, para invitar a mi hermana y mis dos sobrinas, quienes tienen dos meses de la partida física de esposo y padre a la vez, en ese proceso de aceptación, hago lo posible por involucrarlas para que vayan adaptándose a la nueva realidad que se tiene.

- 1 teaspoon turmeric
- 1 teaspoon of salt
- 1/3 cup of oil
- Wooden toothpicks to assemble the skewers.
Para prepararlos, primero juntamos las especias con el aceite para macerar en ello las carnes de res y pollo, dejando reposar durante 30 minutos. Remojamos los palillos en agua y picamos la piña.

Empezamos a armar los pinchos, así de sencillo, sin complicarnos, en cada palillo colocamos pollo, piña, res, pollo, piña y res, hasta tener el tamaño deseado.

En una parrillera eléctrica que poseo, los asamos, mi hijo José Gregorio se encargó de ello.
