Por lo general cuando somos niños no estamos pendientes de precios ni marcas, solo pedimos lo que queremos, o aquello que la publicidad nos ofrece insistentemente, así que en muchos casos, nuestros padres se vieron en apuros cuando queriendo hacerlo, no podían complacer nuestras demandas, generando en algunos respuestas hostiles o nerviosas.
Es por eso que desde pequeños, he tratado de inculcar en mis hijos cierta educación financiera, que les permita saber trabajar basados en un presupuesto y el alcance del dinero que tienes para cubrir tanto los gastos como los gustos. Mi hijo mayor siempre que salimos me pregunta cuanto tengo disponible antes de que realice algún gasto para él, de manera de buscar opciones que le gusten a él, pero que también yo sea capaz de pagar.
Con el menor he empezado esta educación que me parece tan importante no solo económicamente, sino también del lado emocional, pues saber hasta donde podemos abarcar nos da un panorama que de cumplirse evitará ansiedad e incertidumbre, y que puede aplicarse también en otros aspectos de la vida.
Ese día nos fuimos nuevamente al supermercado que tiene buenos precios en galletas y siempre está muy surtido, de manera de hacer las compras para las meriendas de la semana, pero él era quien debía llevar la batuta de lo que compraríamos, quedando bajo su responsabilidad buscar precios y mercancía acorde con sus gustos y los de su hermano. Tenía para gastar solo 5.000 pesos (5$) y con eso en mente empezó a buscar los productos.
Al llegar a la caja, la cuenta ascendió a 6.200, pero llevamos otras cosas aparte de las meriendas, así que creo que cumplimos con el objetivo. Quise destacar esta actividad en mi TBT, ya que considero que es una buena forma de educar a nuestros hijos para que entiendan la dinámica del dinero desde pequeños, y a futuro sean capaces de saber administrar sus propios recursos de la mejor forma posible.

That day we went again to the supermarket, which has good prices on cookies and is always well stocked, in order to shop for the week's snacks, but he was the one who had to take the baton of what we would buy, being under his responsibility to look for prices and merchandise according to his and his brother's tastes. He had only 5,000 pesos ($5.00) to spend and with that in mind he began to look for the best prices and merchandise for the week's snacks.
