Hi there!
I'm certain that all the busy 9 to 5 workers should know today is WORKER'S DAY, because that's no big news. But the question that lies underneath it all is, are these 9 to 5 workers still working on this day?
International Worker's Day
It is a day dedicated to celebrating all workers out there. At least that is what it says. But will these big corporations and even the small ones celebrate their workers? That is the resounding question in my head. Are workers the embodiment of the business or are they pawns looking for a means to survive in this battle of living life?
The origination of this International Worker Day happens to spring from the concept of 8 hours of work, 8 hours of recreation, and 8 hours of sleep. Well, that isn't entirely the case at least for me. I don't know if I'm one of the many few but I find myself working without a schedule or timing.
As a freelance and remote designer, I've discovered I work around the clock. There is no specific time to clock in for work, I just work on the get-go and try to beat deadlines. When the gig comes in from the client or when the company needs me for new designs, I'm on the speed dial.
Oh! It's the design life I chose. That's why today my conscience and thoughts became surprised when they saw the master's body wasn't awake and in front of his laptop. It was so shocking that when I tried to sleep past my wake-up time, my alarm just kept screaming, hoping I wouldn't answer the call. Instead, I gave it a hot slap of snooze rolled over to the side of the bed, and continued snoring as the air condition kept blowing.
I know that today I'm not doing a thing, every other thing can wait, and there is always tomorrow. I'm simply going to take care of myself and watch The Amateur and new episodes of the You series on Netflix.
Hey, we live to fight another day but today I'm resting, unless you have a $1M crypto design project that needs my design skills, then I'm all yours.
Until then @southgamer continues snoring.....
