When you're waiting for someone, especially when youāre early or theyāre running late, it almost always ends up with you spending money, or is it just me? š¤ I always try to convince myself I'm just looking around but somehow my feet lead me into a store, and the next thing I know, I'm paying for something I didn't even plan to buy.
This happened on one random rainy afternoon. I wasnāt planning to go out at all, but then I saw a message in our group chat from one of my friends. He was asking if anyone was free to grab coffee. Normally, it takes forever for our schedules to align, so I didnāt hesitate. I replied, āIām in!ā right away even though I wasnāt sure if the others could come. I just thought, if Iām free and thereās a chance to catch up with my friends, Iām going. No second-guessing.
Maybe it's the thought that weāre all growing older and busier. One day weāre free to hang out, the next thing, someoneās moving cities, changing jobs, getting married. So I try to show up while I still can. Youāll never know when the next time will be, right?
To my surprise, six out of the seven of us were available that night. We talked about a few ideas on where to meet but no one could really decide, so we ended up going to our usual spot, the Uptown Mall.
Gabbie and I arrived first since we're in the area already. Then Addie came in a few minutes later. Bree showed up earlier than expected, since she lives in Quezon City.
While waiting for the others, we wandered around and ended up in front of Ritaās. It is a dessert spot known for its Italian ice and frozen treats. At first, we were just checking the menu, not really planning to buy anything. But then the staff offered us free samples š
We tried flavors like Sāmores, Fudge Brownie, Green Apple, and Cotton Candy. I fell in love with the Fudge Brownie Gelati. I usually donāt go for sweets, but that one hit the spot. I got a regular size, chose the Twist for the custard, and skipped toppings since the combo was already sweet enough. I even asked for extra spoons so my friends could try it too.
And no, I didnāt lick the top š I used a spoon hahaha I almost forgot to take a picture for the blog, but thankfully I snapped one after my first scoop. My friends loved it too! The branch we went to had chairs and tables so we stayed there while waiting for the rest of our friends.
That gelati made the waiting time feel short. Waiting isnāt so bad when youāve got good company and a cup of Gelati š
Now Iām craving it again. Canāt wait to go back and try the other flavors!
Have you been to Ritaās? If yes, what should I try next?
Enjoyed this scoop?
