There’s something quietly special about stepping into nature with my cat beside me. Most people wouldn’t think of cats as foraging companions. Cats seem to understand the land better than most humans I know.
Cats don't just notice their surroundings, they feel them.
I’ve learned to watch my cat closely as I watch the ground, and I’ve learned to pay attention to what catches his interest. It’s not always edible, but sometimes it’s something important.
Sometimes, my cat leads me down paths I never would have taken on my own or a better way.
He communicates better with me in the wild and loves my presence.
And taught me that foraging is more than just gathering.
It is listening, and it is also feeling the surroundings.
And everything speaks without words.
It is understanding, and sometimes, it is better and deeper.
Have a lovely day!
