Nice to greet you again #beer friends.
After several weeks without participating in #beersaturday, today I find myself again eager to participate in this community related to fermented liquid gold.
About two and a half months ago, as a result of a hypertensive crisis and the relevant consultation with the head doctor, the intake of beer with alcohol has been suspended for an indefinite period of time. As a result of this situation, taking advantage of the fact that I was on vacation, I chose to avoid meeting friends for lunch or dinner because I did not trust my willpower to comply with my low-salt diet and without the intake of beer with alcohol.
However, from the first days of September, my willpower to comply with the diet was greater and in turn I was discovering some Spanish non-alcoholic beers whose taste is more than acceptable and in particular two toasted beers 0.0 of which I will talk about below.
Estrella Galicia's 0.0 toasted beer is undoubtedly the best non-alcoholic beer I have ever tasted and is my beer of choice at present. It is a 0.0 beer that has nothing to do with its 0.0 pilsen style. Its color is amber with some orange tones. According to the information on its label, it is brewed with water from A Coruña, barley malt, corn and hops at its brewery in A Coruña (Galicia-Spain). According to the estrella Galicia website, they use six types of malt with different degrees of roasting and use Nugget, Perle Hallertau and Sladek hops to brew this beer.
Fortunately, I usually find this beer in the places I frequent with my friends, except in two places that I hope to soon convince them, since they do not have 0.0 roasted beer and my alternative is a 0.0 beer that I do not like at all or drink water (How sad, hahaha).
The second beer, of my choice, is the 0.0 toasted beer from the Madrid brewery Mahou.
This beer also tastes very close to conventional toasted beers, but obviously, a beer without alcohol can never be at the same level as a beer with alcohol. Unlike Estrella Galicia's 0.0 roasted beer, it has a slightly less bitter taste. Its color is slightly lighter than Estrella Galicia beer. On its labeling you can read that it is brewed with water, roasted barley malts, corn, hops, aromas and preservatives. Therefore, in view of the ingredients used, I believe that the masters of Estrella Galicia, without the use of flavorings or preservatives, have achieved a better product without additives.
Because the distribution of Estrella Galicia, focuses more on the north of Spain, this beer 0.0 is what I find when for work reasons I am in the center and south of Spain (Madrid, Andalusia, etc).
I hope to recover my health soon and bring you some news about beers with alcohol or else I will continue exploring the world of 0.0 beers and if I find one that catches my attention I will share it with you.
Have a great #beersaturday and happy halloween.
