This one is flippin amazing!
After a late bicycle trip I wanted to relax a bit.
One for the road
About 5 in the afternoon I decided it was time to turn off the LCD monitor and get some fresh air. The temperature was quite nice at about 18 degrees Celsius. Time to hit the road for a bicycle trip. Stadskanaal was the goal, wanted to photograph a (non-functional) watertower over there. Unfortunately it became quite clouded, but it was nice to do some biking. About 25 Kilometers from where I live. A moraine landscape that really needs some effort now and then. Had a good time and on my way back, sometimes I do tend to forget that I still have to go back, I was thinking about food and a glass of beer.
Actually I had bought this specific beer for another Beer Thirstday. Bought four of these, they were the last ones. Two for my Broah, he has not tasted this one yet. As I already did I know he also wil dig this one. So, I will have to make sure I will leave two untouched. Coming Beer Thirstday he is hosting, he got quite some old beers. The oldest one being from 1994! Would it still be good to drink? Already we had a Pannepot from 2012, wonderfully smooth, with some red whine touches to it. But a brew from 1994? We will be careful, first uncap and it should still do 'pssssh'. Poison it wont be probably. Isnt poison French for fish? Ah well, never mind.
The 'Kees' - 'Caramel Fudge Stout' I'm enjoying right now is pretty marvelous. It is dark, intense brown, no light can get through, really, not kidding. And this 11.5% Imperial Stout is absolutely delivering what it says on the can. It has got real chocolate and caramel inside, what an amazing dopio malto class beer! The taste, it has got the light bitter of darker than dark chocolade and the tongue kissing sweetness of fudge caramel. And I'm not just stating this because it is a product from the Netherland. It is just a small brewery, so it might be tough to get your hands on one of these. It costs about 3 €uro, yet for this kind of master brew it is bloody worth every cent! There even seems to be a barrel aged version of this one!? Have nog been able to find one of those though. And in the meantime I'm going to slowly enjoy this one.
Have a great one!
