A recently bought 4 pallets of bricks for a project I was doing. Once I was done I had 4 pallets that I put into my yard with the hopes of doing something with them. I figured if I didn't come up with an idea for them I would at least build some structures for our goats to play on.
It finally hit me that I need to build some shelves in my bar to hold the liquor bottles. So I decided to make this.
I started this project by grabbing the pallets and beginning to tear them apart. I have done this before and used a pry bar and hammer. This time I wanted to keep some of the nails in the wood so I used a Sawzall with a demo blade that can handle the occasional nail. It made quick work of tearing apart the pallets.
The next step was to pick the best pieces for the project, since many of the boards are cracked or badly damaged from the wood's prior life as a pallet.
After selecting the pieces I cut them to size and started gluing it together. I found a light system on amazon that looked as if it would work well with this project. So I ordered this 6 light system which even came with a dimming switch.

I put the light system in the shelves and then hung it.
Friends and family have come over and immediately notice the shelves. Im very happy with it and happy that it only cost me $26 for the light kit.
Just one more picture so you can see it in the bar better.
Hope everyone has a wonderful week.
