Hello all lovers of BEER! Liquid Bread for the bavarians as it is a so called Grundnahrungsmittel in Bavaria. This Bavarian brew comes from the Tegernsee. Exactly from the Herzoglich Bayerisches Brauhaus Tegernsee. This BEER goes back to 746 when the Benedictine monastery was founded at the shore of the lake. The monks brew their own BEER since then. You can see that this is a really old brewery. You can see it on the second picture with the 2 churchtowers. I have linked a POST by @alexvan HERE so you can check out how it looks. And I also used one of his pictures for the sake of beauty.
I also linked this post to @pinmapple so people can find a BEER Saturday post on there from now on.
If you are not linking your posts location you loose out on potential readers! It is easy to just go to https://www.pinmapple.com/ and search for your location! Generate a pinmapple code and copy paste it into your post! Bang your post is now linked on a map on Pinmapple.com!
Welcome to my second consecutive post on a Beer Saturday. This time
I filled my HIVE shopping bag with Tegernseer Hell for BEER Saturday
Hell= does refer to the type of BEER not to the place :)
The facts:
- Bavarian Beer is a protected geographical description It only can used by breweries actually located in Bavaria
Website: https://www.brauhaus-tegernsee.de/
Type: lager beer or Helles Bier
Ingredients: As always true to the Bavarian purity requirements the only ingredients are water, barley malt, hops
Alc. and original wort
Alc. 4,8% vol. – Stammwürze/original wort or original gravity: P11
I really like this BEER and unfortunately I never drank this one from the keg before only from the bottle. It has a nice light refreshing taste to it and the good thing is it can be bought in almost every supermarket in Austria as well.
Tegernseer is often referred to as a hipster Beer and that is because you can get it all over Berlin in the so called Späti which means a 24/7 supermarket.
In Vienna a lot of places that are cool sell this Beer in 0,33 bottles for horrendous prices.
I paid 1,19 € for the bottle and in Germany you should be able to get this beer sub 1 €
The Tegernseer I am talking about comes in a 0,5l bottle with a very puristic design. You can see the banner of the Erzherzog the Archduke of Bavaria (yes that title is still a thing) on the blue and white checkered Bavarian flag. A copper engraving of the Benedictine monastery on the bottom round it all up.
About the Erzherzog: the current one is Franz Bonaventura Adalbert Maria Herzog von Bayern you can check the wikipedia entry about him.
One of my favourite BEERs and I got really thirsty so let's get one from the fridge!
Thanks everyone for reading and supporting my blogposts! See you on next #BEERSaturday
