It is funny to think that I am sharing a beer weekend experience here but also in awe that there is a community in this platform dedicated to this thing. I feel validated that this platform is open to this topic and that we can share funny experiences, because of course, the laughter with drunk people is the best and most authentic one. But this last beer experience is not that crazy at all because we were still sober after we left the place.
Last Sunday, we visited a drinking place right after eating in McDonald's where I was doing my review there for the upcoming seminar I am going to be a speaker at. After getting full from eating those crispy chicken and burgers, we headed to the Bogo Pantaland, only to find out our usual place was closed. We had to search for another one because we really wanted to drink after a month of hiatus. Luckily, we found one that was unfamiliar to us, but we were comfortable in the place as time passed.
We were very lucky that time because the other customers were not present by the time we drank. It means that we had an exclusive use of their place, especially the karaoke that is very Filipino-coded—when you sing a song every time there is a gathering for a drinking session. We ordered a tower of Velocity which is new to my taste buds, and I don’t really know the exact ingredients, but there is a Mojitos and a grape-flavored juice included in the mixture.
As you can see in the photos, we had a really dark-violet drink that is new to our eyes and our urinary system. We felt the scare of drinking that one, but it vanished after having our first shots that made us realize it is not bad at all—in fact, it tastes like a wine with grape flavor. The three of us were the only ones who drank because our other friend didn’t have the courage to drink after a very funny and scary moment of our drinking session on the beach last April this year.
We had no crackers to complement the drink, so we had to strengthen our stomachs for the acid we would be receiving hilariously. But I recommend that you have bar chow when drinking so that you will stay sober and be less affected by the end of your drinking session. Doctors also recommend that.
We had a lot of chitchats that grew from serious ones to nonsensical topics after each of us had been experiencing the minor dizziness from the drink. A lot of laughter was breathed into the air as if the whole place was ours, and with the right timing, there were no people in the place except us. The karaoke was so lively as we sang different songs amidst our cracking voices. Everybody sang, especially me, or I would be forced to broadcast my voice ungenuinely.
We had a reverberating karaoke session. These are my girl friends from my department, and the other two were not present because they had their summer vacation. There were posters behind us saying, "Drinking rum before noon makes you a pirate, not an alcoholic" and "I told myself that I should stop drinking, but I am not about to listen to a drunk who talks to himself," which are funny and validating ones. So we drank and drank to make ourselves pirates until the very last drop of drink in the container.
The rest that happened was a history. 😁 Of course, we had a funny kind of dancing and humour that is embarrassing to showcase. This is all for my blog that is very sober after a weekend drink. How about you? What are your experiences this weekend? Share it in the comment section.
