Discovering Aliana Mae: A Journey of Life, Dreams, and Determination
ABOUT ME
Hi, I am Aliana Mae. I am 21 years of age, taking up Bachelor of Secondary Education, majoring in Social Studies. I am currently a fourth year and hopefully a grad-waiting student. I am currently residing to a place known to be as Gun City, Danao City Cebu. You may be wondering that in all things that a place is infamous for, why guns? Is it allowed? Permitted? Is the city safe to live for? Certainly yes! Before we get to dwell on this matter, which will be talked about in the next blog, allow me to present myself to all of you.
I am the eldest among the six children of Mr. and Mrs. Berayon. We are 8 in the family of which I have six siblings- three are girls and three are boys. Just by writing this I can't still believe that we are pretty much of a bigger family, and a bigger problem too! My Mom and Dad were legally married. I was born on May 04, 2003 and guess what? My dad and I had the same birthday too! Reason why I was often tagged in the family as the daddy’s girl.
Our life before when we were 5 in the family, I can say that we have a comfortable living. We had a nanny that supervised us when our parents were not around. My father used to be a foreman which I believe generates a good income. My mother, on the other hand, is a regular factory worker in our city. I believe our life back then was simple yet thriving. However, our comfortable living was rapidly changed into a life I never dreamt of. You’ll get to know me better about how my life changed drastically in the next following blog. A once complete happy family turns out to be a broken family.
If you ever met someone who has full energy when talking and is constantly laughing about silly things, who cracks jokes just so the group would feel lively—that’s certainly me! I am a woman who is fond of reading specifically in the genres of romance, mystery and crime. I could certainly lay down all day without having meals and even not taking a bath just so I could not be disturbed in reading. If you may come across the word “ebook” this is certainly the platform where I used to read different romance stories. If you happen to know this, please comment below and tell me what are those stories that you loved the most during these days. I still can exactly remember reading these stories using my cherry mobile keypad phone. From “ebook” it literally evolved into “wattpad”. Some of you here may seem to be familiar with this platform (comment down below what are your recommended books😉) because if I was crazy in ebook, then I am crazier in wattpad. Can you believe my phone exploded while I was charging because of reading the wattpad?😱 Uh-huh you read it right! I can blame the phone though, I was charging the phone all day while using it so what did I expect? But it did not stop me from being a reader. I was able to find ways again. Lucky me, I have spared one.
By becoming a crazy reader, exploring different genres, I found myself hooked to history. I have been especially drawn to history ever since when I was in elementary. I can memorize the dates, people and events. I am very curious as to why things exist and why they happen. In a classroom of 45-50 learners, I am the first one to raise my hand and ask questions to my teacher. I mean, I'm not like Sheldon Cooper but my classmates often get annoyed with me. I don’t know why, maybe because I am a kind of learner who is inquisitive, probably because of my social status or worst my classmates didn't like me for no reason at all. Well, despite their hatred I continue cultivating my knowledge. I can still recall how competitive I was in the classroom when it came to Araling Panlipunan (Social Studies). I was so inclined in reading history to such an extent that I swore to myself that when I go to college it's either to become a lawyer or to become a teacher with a specialization of Social Studies. Well, I guess I am God’s favorite because he planned something for me and here I am now pursuing education with a specialization of Social Studies.
What I’ll be sharing soon
I was told I could just write whatever I want here, Is that true? If it was, here are the future contents I would like to share with all you.
My Family
As you may know, we were once a complete family. But things got changed when we moved to another barangay and when my mother gave birth to our fourth sibling. This transition to our family impacted us in several ways. My mother decided to give up her work just so she can focus on taking care of our growing family. My father continued to his job but unfortunately, there was a conflict between him and the company and decided to resign. In order to supplement our non-stop needs, my dad decided to work as a trisikad driver. These are the few of the major events that have a significant impact in our lives.
Sari-Sari Store
This small but terrible store manages to pay our daily expenses. This was run by my mother and we are the support system. I work as a vendor in our store. I may be working but I received no salary. Of course, there is no need for that because the store itself pays our expenses. However, I would like to share with you how this all started. I will also probably share some tips on how to attract customers because I’ve been a vegetable vendor for 5 years.
My Journey as Call Center Agent at Concentrix
Aside from becoming a vendor, I also dreamt of a job wherein I worked in an airconditioned room, just only click click and no slice slice. Every night, before I go to sleep, I always wonder, Is it possible for me to try something new? Will I have a chance to take a risk and venture new opportunities outside of my town? Will I ever have the courage?
My Career Choice
Becoming an Attorney or Teacher? Which is which?
These are the glimpse that was and is currently happening in my life right now. I am truly blessed that I have this platform to express what has been suppressed for so many years. At first, I had doubts because it’s been a while since the last time I wrote. Mostly I wrote academic papers but most of them got a low score. Perhaps, one of the main reasons why I am hesitant to write. But a few individuals have encouraged me to join this community because no one will judge, critique, or give scores of the contents I write here. I was intrigued when I heard about this and so Hive was introduced by Miss @jeanmazing. I was inspired that she was called a Miss Blogger by her friends and colleagues. I adored her during the orientation via Google Meet because she shared very genuine and inspiring stories of how Hive transformed her in many ways. Truth to be told, I found my perfect platform where it values inclusivity and respect towards each member. I
As a new member here in Hive, I will genuinely share my interest, life lessons, experiences and insights. I hope that through my stories, I can inspire a few readers out here. I’ll ensure that I’ll be providing quality content while also abiding by the rules and regulations set on this platform. See you in my next blog!
