Hello, Hivers! A new day for another blog. I hope everyone has a great day π
Adjusting to a new workplace requires self-readiness to whatever circumstantial matters that might occur throughout the way. Prayers, perseverance, and building positive relationships with colleagues are the key elements for sustainability until the full adjusted stage. Every beginning is bumpy and challenging, but once you get used to it, everything comes smoothly and easily. I was an ESL teacher for two years. I enjoyed being alone and felt more productive but the time came that I needed to expand my horizon for some personal reasons and stability. Hehehe!
Fortunately, last year I made up my decision and decided to apply to the DepEd which stands for the Department of Education in Cebu City for the first time as a Teacher I. I just took the risk and held on to my prayers tightly that I would pass in the RQA which stands for Registry of Qualified Applicants.. In the same year, I passed and got hired. Thanks G!
I was ecstatic but overthinking heavily about what would be the characters and behaviors of my new colleagues and how intense the workloads as well. Hehehe! Anyway, as long as I will do my job as a teacher, then all is well.
Finally, the time has come. I was assigned in Grade 3 β my first ever public advisory level. Luckily, my co-teachers were great, amazing, and inspiring. I was so elated back then. They were guiding us β the neophytes in the service since we were three who bumped together on that day, last year November 8 with the same grade level. Yohoo! It was not quite awkward to mingle with them.
Fast forward, a wonderful and productive school year ended with my learners and a memorable team building with my co-teachers.
We held our team building at Egi Resort and Hotel in Looc Maribago, Lapu-Lapu City, Cebu. It was quite far. It can't be denied that Lapu-Lapu City is also known for its beautiful beaches and resorts, particularly on the island of Mactan, where the city is located.
We passed at CCLEX which stands for Cebu-Cordova Link Expressway. It is located in the Cebu Metropolitan Area. It is a toll bridge that connects the island of Cebu, specifically to the Municipality of Cordova. The new bridge is 8.9 kilometers long. At the end of the bridge, it has a toll fee of 90 pesos for private vehicles that pass there and so far no kind of discount.
We were at the hotel reception in this photo.
After a one and half hours of travel, finally we arrived! The place was spacious. It has a drop-off point in the front part of the hotel reception and a parking area as well. We were allowed to bring any members of the family so my partner was with me.
The place was recommendable for gathering big events. We rented a cottage good for 25 pax. We brought our food outside already from catering. It has one big pool and is divided into two portions one for the kid size and the other one for the adult size. It also has a seafront view, perfect for guests who prefer to swim at the beach than in the pool.
My friend offered her kindness to take us photos with the pool background.
While taking some photos on this spot, my co-teachers at my back were busy preparing for the program.
Our team building started with a prayer, a set of individual and group games, eating, and swimming β the last part. Touches of laughter filled all over the place. Chit-chats with my co-teachers were seen everywhere. Memories were created and learnings were transpired.
We were the three new teachers that I said. We already started to build a new friendship. It was a feeling of joy to be with these ladies who were generous, witty, and supportive.
Look! We were the sincere three family. Looking back the journey was not easy, but these teachers were just here to uplift us and strengthen our fighting spirit. Indeed, we did it! Their support served as the light in our path in this educational journey and I was thankful for all the wisdom and kindness they imparted with us.
Life is a continuous journey so is learning. Let us not stop for as much time as possible.
Thatβs all for my blog today. My sincerest thanks for taking the time to read and support my blog, until next time. See you!
XOXO ~ @ancrafts
