Hello December!
Countdown starts now as we are approaching closer to the
Christmas Holidays. I look forward to celebrate the holidays specifically Christmas with family and friends. Of course, who wouldn't?
Christmas becomes more meaningful when spent with family. There is that warmth that surrounds your heart you can only feel with the people you cherish and love. There is no other way better than that. Well, that's just me.
Since it is the season for giving and sharing, I believe it isn't too much to wish something for the holidays. Oh star of Bethlehem, I wish upon you today.
The thought of making a wish and be hopeful that it would be granted came up when I stumbled upon @hiveph weekly wrting prompt. And for this week's question goes...
What do you wish for this holiday? World peace ba talaga? Baka naman sports car, yung red?
As much as I love to have world peace, I'll just choose to have peace of mind. In Michael Jackson's song Man in the Mirror, an excerpt of the lyrics of the song stood out for me. It goes...
If you wanna make the world a better place,
Take a look at yourself and make a change.
I believe that choosing a peaceful mind for myself will resonate to the people around me and affect them in the positive way. Peace has to begin within us. Choosing peace within ouselves is our ticket to world peace.
How about a sports car yung red? Well, how about a Tesla car? "Elon beke nemen", LOL 😂. I just love the thought of it being electric and solar powered. Owning one is luxury but not in the expense of the environment. At the least.
Elon Musk has been making a name in the car industry with his Tesla cars and he is also a crypto enthusiast and investor. So in this hive ecosystem, he is most relevant billionare who can make our wish come true of owning a car. Lol! You wish!
Anyways, so much with this ramblings as an elaborate way to make this blog a 500-word+++ as it is one of the requirements to this blogging contest. Hahah! So, lets get serious here.
What I really wish for the holidays?
I wish for a clear, blue sky and a beautiful weather for the holidays.
As someone who experienced the worst weather condition in the Philippines last year which is Super Typhoon Odette, a beautiful weather on the holidays is something as precious as gold for me. The typhoon caused massive destruction in our province that led to some people celebrating the holidays with nothing on their plates and nothing to shelter them as many houses were completely destroyed by the typhoon. We experienced a month-long darkness because the power lines where badly hit. We welcomed the Christmas eve and New Year's eve in darkness, no dancing lights, no joyous christmas songs, and no overwhelming chat messages that wished us a merry christmas and a happy new year because there was no internet connection and no network signals. After the typhoon many trips were delayed and some family members that planned to spend the holidays cancelled their trips home. Many plans did not push through. It was a total disarray.
For this year, I hope for a beautiful weather. Sunny days during the holidays so every plans with family and friends will push through like Christmas gatherings or christmas parties and people get to enjoy their holidays.
I hope for the typhoons to leave the Philippines premises so no families will suffer and family members will be celebrating the holidays together.
I want to witness the merry making during the holidays, children caroling in different homes, dancing christmas lights, hearing christmas songs, eating noche buena with the family and just a blast of fun and happiness for the season. This is what I missed last year and during the pandemic when activities were limited.
This is my simple wish. May God grant our wishes and the desires of our hearts.
Happy holidays everyone.
