POLE DANCING
I never thought I'd find myself enjoying Pole dancing as my form of workout and hobby. Pole dancing is not a common sport here in the Philippines. We are a pretty conservative country and when they hear the word "pole" they associate it with those dancing in the clubs/bar. 🤣 If I remembered it well, I think it was my friend who tagged me in one of their facebook ads about the opening of their studio which is just a few minutes away from my house. I was like "This is really interesting, unique and not something most people would do." 😆
I am the type of person who moves away from the crowd and do something exciting. I immediately inquired, asked for the rates and checked my schedule (I was still in college that time). Since I got too busy during my college days, I waited til our summer break so I could do a free trial. I had mixed emotions, I was excited and scared and didn't even know if I'll be able to follow through the whole class. I had lots of what ifs, "What if I'm not flexible enough?""What if my arms aren't that strong?" "What if my body is too stiff?" then I realized, why am I even thinking about all these? That is why it's called a Class, a training for a reason! It is so we can learn and train our body to be flexible, strong and graceful!
After my trial class, I really loved the energy! I was so proud to be able to fully climb to the top of the pole on my first day! (Or am I just bragging. 🤣) Everyone were friendly and motivated each other. Our coach Juli explains really well, patient enough to keep demonstrating multiple times and ensures our safety as she keeps reminding us to call her if anyone will attempt a trick. I loved the feeling of nailing a trick, I loved the bruises, sprains and the muscle pain ,🤣 and I enjoyed every class we had!
Here are some of my pictures way back 2017 when I started Pole. These are just some of the pole tricks/poses you will learn as a beginner.
Would be nice if I could take a before and after photos! I'll try to find time and post an updated one soon! 😁
One thing that I would advice to those who wants to try something new but is reluctant is to just STOP UNDERESTIMATING YOURSELF, BOOK THAT CLASS and go ENJOY THE EXPERIENCE! You'll be amazed at what our bodies can do especially if you pair it with a POSITIVE MINDSET!
Join us and get fit and fab through pole dancing! Classes will start April 18! See you!
You can also book a private class!
