Although we don't have talent fee for playing on this event, we are still excited to play for this kind of gig. This is the first time that we will be playing on a hammock fest. It is sure to raining hammocks on the sites.
Months ago, we started to planned and prepared for this gig. We repaired and upgraded some of our instruments.
This Djembe sounds not so good. And we think that the skin is not well stretched. That is why we disassembled it and made some repairs and upgrade.
This is Jowell, one of our percussionist. He plays the Djembe.
The head seems not equally flat.
We used sandpaper to flatten it out.
We also changed its cord to effectively stretch the head skin.
This is the result of our work.
Tha sounds is so nice. The sound is so crisp. This is the sound that we like. I hope I can share the sound of it from photo. LoL.
Another upgrade is for my acoustic guitar. Even though I have an electric guitar, I always choose to bring my acoustic guitar. So in times of just hanging around, we can still play while doing some other things, like drinking. Haha.
The full process is posted here:

I installed an active pick up to my acoustic guitar. So, I can play it even on a loud crowd. Recently, I just used a detachable pick up. But it is not so effective. It gives so much noise and hums.
And that's it. Next time we will also upgrade the acoustic guitar of John, our lead guitarist.
This not just a post to share, but this is also an invite to my fellow Hivers here in the Philippines that if you have a spare time and if you are near the event location, join us. The event is happening tomorrow, December 10-11, 2022 at Tribo Panoy, Talavera, Nueva Ecija.
