The world is currently filled with uncertainty. For example, right now we still have a lot of income but it will suddenly change tomorrow. We don't know that the company we are working for will suddenly experience a shutdown due to the collapse of our economy and this will result in our dismissal. So, what can we do to keep our family surviving during trouble?
I learned something good from ants. The ant is a very advanced thinker. They know that there is a time of abundance and a time of scarcity of food. Because of that, what can they do? In times of abundance, they gather large amounts of food and do not stop until food becomes scarce. How are they doing during the famine? Well, none of them died of starvation. The good example of ants teaches us to prepare for adversity. But how can we do this? A good way is to save on any expenses.
If we have a big income now, there is no reason for us to overspend on things that we don't need. Even when we go shopping we find ways to save money on the same product we want to buy. How? Through collective purchasing. The supplier of products will give a discount if we buy in bulk. My dear Hivers I will share with you my discovered method to save money when shopping. I will only discuss about a few things. How do we know how much we can save? We will know this by comparing small and large packaging.
For example, let's talk about the all-in-one seasoning of Magic Sarap. A sachet of 8 grams costs 4.15 pesos while a pouch of 150 grams costs 72.75 pesos. How do we know how much we save if we buy 150 grams instead of 8 grams? We will only use a simple mathematical formula.
This is the formula:
Weight ÷ price = weight in grams for every 1 peso paid.
Let's first compute 8 grams.
So.
8 grams ÷ 4.15 pesos = 1.9277108433734 grams for every 1 peso.
Next, let's calculate 150 grams.
So.
150 grams ÷ 72.75 pesos = 2.0618556701030 grams for every 1 peso
The question is, how much can we save if we buy 150 grams? Let's assume that the amount of 150 grams of 72.75 pesos is what we use to buy each of 8 grams, this is what happens:
The equivalent weight that we bought for every 1 peso in an 8-gram sachet is 1.9277108433734 and this is our basis for computing.
So,
1.9277108433734 grams x 72.75 pesos = 140.24096385541 grams
Then,
150 grams - 140.24096385541 = 9.75903614459 grams we save if we buy 150 grams.
For another example, we will compute how much we can save on soy sauce.
A pouch of 100 milliliter costs 6.95 pesos while a pouch of 340 milliliter costs 18.80 pesos. We will use this similar mathematical formula:
Volume ÷ price = volume in milliliters for every 1 peso paid.
Let's first compute 100 milliliters.
So,
100 milliliters ÷ 6.95 pesos = 14.388489208633 milliliters for every 1 peso.
Next, let's calculate 340 milliliters.
So,
340 milliliters ÷ 18.80 pesos = 18.085106382978 milliliters for every 1 peso.
The question is, how much can we save if we buy 340 milliliters instead of 100 milliliters? Let's assume that the amount of 340 milliliters of 18.80 pesos is what we use to buy each of 100 milliliters, this is what happens:
The equivalent volume that we bought for every 1 peso in a 100-milliliter is 14.388489208633 and this is our basis for computing.
So,
14.388489208633 milliliters x 18.80 pesos = 270.50359712230 milliliters
Then,
340 milliliters - 270.50359712230 milliliters = 69.4964028777 milliliters we save if we buy 340 milliliters.
These are just some of the products that I calculated in advance and compared the prices individually and in bulk to save money. It is better to shop in bulk especially if the store is far away from our house to save on the rising cost of petroleum fuel. We can save a lot of time, energy, and money. Just like the ants I mentioned earlier save in advance while in abundance.
My dear Hivers that's all for now. Thank you so much for reading this article. Have a nice day.
