Aware of the word "delay"?
DELAY is defined as ...
"A period of time by which something may be attained late or postponed instead of the original target of time." - Paraphrased meaning from Cambridge Dictionary.

In the real world, uncountable people are afraid of this specific word. Of course, who wouldn't be? Especially if a person have been aiming for the greatest things that life may offer. That's quite understandable!
As a lady who was born from a poor family, "dreams" do fuels my inner & outer body to continue striving for a better future.
By now, I, Futureagrcltrst, is a fourth-year college student. Obviously, taking a 4-year agricultural course. Specifically, BS Agriculture. As I get lucky to graduate on time, I would be aiming for these next steps:
- Take Agriculturist Licensure Examination of November 2023.
- Apply for work (preferably in CLSU as an Instructor, in Philippine Rice Research Institute, or Bureau of Plant Industry).
- Pursue career abroad (specifically either at New Zealand, Germany, Canada, Norway).
Supposedly, I should finish this degree course next year & attend the Annual Commencement Exercises (or simply, "graduation") around July 2023.
APPARENTLY, UNEXPECTED THINGS HAPPENS.
Here's the bad news: "I won't graduate, on time! In short, I would be extending for another semester next Academic Year."
Yes, I've been envisioning this to happen months ago. But, gosh! It's so hard to accept. shed tears
Are you wandering why? Why does me, who happens to be one of the top students of our course, will not graduate right on time? Let's get to know the reasons.
"MY THESIS ADVISOR WILL GO TO JAPAN."
In short, he will leave. Not to travel or for work purposes, but to pursue his Doctorate degree to be a Doctor of Philosophy. In order to focus on this endeavor, he didn't accepted any loads this semester. And, us? His advisory class? He will transfer us to another advisor. I wish that would be that easy but it's not!
Here's the twist! "Disease mapping" isn't the forte of the available Professors in our department, Crop Protection.
"NEEDS LARGE AMOUNT OF MONEY."
Another thing is, if we pursue this thesis topic, it'll costs us hundred thousand pesos. Why? In order to effectively map Anthracnose-Twister disease in onion, we need these two software applications:
- ArcGID Desktop Version 10.3 of ESRI for GIS Mapping; and
- ISODATA for Image Processing.
And, these software applications? We will buy it for thousand of pesos. Hoo! One way to solve the emerging problem? Here:
"MAKE ANOTHER THESIS STUDY."
Yes, I will remake my thesis study. This time, I will pursue my original thesis title about disease inoculation. It'll be mind-wrecking, yes. But, it's my forte! So, lesser worries it will he.
On the same day that I've known this news? I immediately informed my parents saying: "Ma, Pa! I won't graduate next year." Then, spilled the reasons. They fully understand me, so I won't have problems with them. Perks of having a parents who wouldn't pressure you to accomplish things right on time.
According to William Shakespeare:
"Delays have dangerous ends."

Like what I've said: "delays is really scary due to its associated domino effects."
But, I know someone who had overcome it eventually. Who? It's KUYA DAVE, a senior whom I've met when I'm in first year in CAG!
"He overstayed in the university for 7-YEARS. One reason, THESIS. But, guess what? After he graduated last July 2021, he instantly took the board exam in November 2021. And, he passed it in only one-take. Now, he's finally a LICENSED AGRICULTURIST who's busy going in and out of the country for work."
So, yeah. DELAYS might be really scary~ but, I won't let it to hinder me from achieving my dreams & making my life more established and better.
