Hi Hive!
In my usual Sunday life, I spend the whole day in church, working there as voluntary servant. But this Sunday, July 6, 2025, I decided to do something different: I went for a hike! (Though I still made sure to attend mass first. And the priest's message about "mission" stayed with me as I set out.)
I had planned just a short 2-hour hike, but my feet wanted more, so it turned into 5 hours! My route: Wan Chai Gap Road -> Wong Nai Chung Gap Road -> Mount Butler (you can see the path in my pictures).
Hiking is so relaxing and refreshing — it clears my mind when life feels overwhelming. It's the best medicine for self-care and self-love. This trail has many stairs (up and down!), but the trees, the wind, and the quiet make me feel so calm. Nature is always a good friend. That beautiful view at the top? It washes away every worry.
Sometimes, stepping into nature feels like stepping into grace.
I also want to share how much I admire Hong Kong's care for nature — look at these protected trees, planted so thoughtfully that even heavy rain or strong typhoons can't easily uproot them. And the views! Where else can you see the sea, mountains, and towering cityscapes all at once?
Hong Kong is a small city with a huge population, yet it thrives because of good governance and public discipline. People here respect rules, from recycling to queueing, which makes urban life harmonious despite the density.
This balance — nature and skyscrapers, chaos and order — is why I love this place. It's a reminder that even in a busy world, we can coexist with nature if we choose to.
